At the QB position, if he doesn't fit what's been "LSU material" if say that's the biggest compliment one can receive. No reason not to offer if he's different than what we've had.

Why not offer this kid? If Les wants to run the ball, let's run the fricking triple option or some offense that (at least) takes all of the pressure off of LF. After watching the aTm game, it was obvious that both LF & DG should have been on the field at the same time.

Don't know about the triple option but the kid is a dam good and accurate passer. Seems he would be a good fit to our offense. We should offer him if for nothing else, in that we need two QB's in this class, just in case one doesn't work out.

WE should take two this year and next year, then out of the 4 of them, at least one should be able to play at least fairly well. QB's seem hard to project (for LSU) so the more the better.

Check off the boxes:

is he accurate? yes
is he a winner? yes
can he run? yes
is his arm strong enough? yes
is he smart? yes
Is he "pro style" in stature? no

the only box marked no is the one that doesn't even matter. We should recruit him hard. What's to lose.

if by some miracle we got Haskins or Eason, then take one QB this class. With Franks take 2. Without Haskins, Eason, or Franks, take 3. Then do the same thing next season. Then 'process' whichever ones don't work out. WE need to find a QB some where some how, even if it doesn't help next season, just for the future. We got to end this cycle of underperforming QB's.

If Cam is indeed a QB guru then he should be able to develop at least one of these guys if we give him plenty of QB's to work with.

How does the Gatorade POY, who lives in Louisiana, not have an offer from LSU?

Because our coaching staff doesn't recruit on kids being competitive, they recruit solely on potential. Which they will not live up to here. Grab a guy that can sling it now, who cares how he projects as a NFL prospect

+ he is a great kid and team player. He absoutly took over the game against Parkway. He was the best player on the field. LSU would be stupid not to at least talk to him.

Been rooting for this kid since last year when I first saw his highlight tape. He has everything you want in a qb except his height which I think can be an over exaggerated quality. He has been producing at the highest level in the state of Louisiana, named the GPOTY and still LSU won't give this kid a serious look. I'm no talent evaluater or coach but he just reminds me of R. Wilson.
No I'm not saying he is Wilson. No I'm not related to him

What were his stats last game?

I just don't understand why he would go to Syracuse? I am sure he is guaranteed to start but still he could go to LSU and compete for playing time as QB and also be what Russell Shepard was supposed to be the kid just makes plays

Came across this thread from a year ago. Some of yal were little off. Said he'd be a RB or WR. He's gonna kill in Babers system.

I would not assume he is guaranteed to start at Syracuse. He is however excited that Babers is coming in with his high flying circus. BTW, Syracuse is in a Power 5 conference which will play FSU, UNC, Duke, NCSt, GaTech, Clemson, Miami, and Louisville to name a few... Those are not shabby games.

One of the things that I thought was interesting about this kid was from an article on 24/7 about his work with Jeff Garcia. He worked with him on putting air under the ball on certain throws to help the receiver on routes like corners, sideline outs, and hole shots. Not a lot of kids his age have seen that kind of instruction. Jeff Garciaof 49'ers fame is a family friend from playing CFL ball with his dad. And most important thing of all... he can throw a screen pass!

Scott just makes plays. He does not make the silly mistakes. He works his tail off and prepares each week. Also very good in the classroom and an outstanding young man. His team had a shaky first half against Parkway and he went into beast mode after halftime. Took over the game like he always does. 25 - 3 the last two years, led his team to the semi-finals as a sophomore and junior and to the state finals this year. All he does is win! Best of luck to him.

If we're gonna suck at QB, i would rather it be because we took a chance at an in state kid.
