As a recruiter. I'll get a much better response here.

Not enough to tell anything, really.

His first year two years ago at Nebraska Rivals only credits him with one, unranked DB. This year he pulled 2 4 stars, one from Arizona, one from LA.

This year he pulled another 4 star kid from LA.

Appears to have at least solid ability there.

So, how big might this be...

Major concern with Raymond's departure: Tre'Vell Dixon. With his location (Louisiana) and connection to Raymond, LSU has him if they want.[/QUOTE]

Did we hire Raymond and I missed it? I've been on TSD and a couple other spots and haven't seen it? I think Dixon looks like a good athlete but I've never heard his name mentioned with LSU at any point.

Not real proven as a recruiter since he is young, but has gotten good reviews early in his career. Should help lockdown the state of LA. Also has some ties to FL and recruited that area for Nebraska, even though he didn't pull anybody. It will be much easier to recruit to LSU than it was at Nebraska with Pelini who doesn't recruit well or Utah St.
I'm excited about his potential along with Henry and think McGaughey will do well this year. The staff is as young as it has ever been so they should relate to these players and be energetic and trying to prove themselves.

Yea, we don't really know just yet. He has not been a coach very long...a few years as assistant strength and conditioning coach at LSU, couple years as DB coach at Utah State, and a couple years as DB coach at Nebraska.

He is viewed as being a solid, smart guy with a good disposition and personality. He is from south Louisiana and has long held ties with the state. The secondaries at Utah State and Nebraska have performed well under his tutelage. No doubt, he gained valuable experience coaching under a defensive-minded guy in Pelini. Let's be aware that the Nebraska defense was an abortion when Pelini arrived in Lincoln; everyone associated with Nebraska was embarrassed at what had become of the Blackshirts. Moreover, Nebraska is a big time program.

Nebraska has recruited and scouted well. They may not land a lot of top-ranked guys but they have done a very good job of evaluating and getting guys that contributed to raising the bar of Nebraska football back to its customary level. Top prospects in that part of the country are sparse; the coaching staff has to venture far to places like Texas, Florida, etc and convince guys to go to the cold farmland plains of Nebraska. Raymond has made his presence known in Louisiana and Texas. Evaluation wise, I'm impressed with what Nebraska has done. Signing wise, they have had hits and misses.

Raymond has started his coaching career on a solid, steady, and upward trajectory. Will he continue and take his reputation to the next level at LSU? It is too early to tell but I like all the potential that he brings with him.

Has a 14 yr. old son, who is good. Likes Nebraska, but ,that's where he's been living, a coaches son, easy life. He'll love La. ,just wait. We'll hear about him as a recruit in about 3 years. Raymond played under Tellini when he was at LSU as DC.

How can people not see through coach speak? Why does it surprise anyone?

Raymond would have been screwed if he told reporters he was interested in the job and didn't get it.

Action, action not words! Never listen to coaches, their words are meaningless to the fans. I have been saying this for years but yet still somehow some of u choose not to listen. Go figure.
