The fact that he may end up at bama instead of here makes him even more of a necessity.
This.
Losing the #1 player in the state would be terrible enough already. Losing him to your top rivalry is unthinkable.
Can't miss; big time prospect. Will start at any program he signs with. So happy he is in LA.

I agree 100% on the top 5 recruit thing. I cut RB Malcolm Brown (whose video you can find on my youtube page) and he is starting at Texas as a true freshman and was ranked #1 at his position. How this kid is not #1 at his position and not mentioned for #1 overall in the nation is beyond me. This kid reminds me of another Miami Hurricane in High School...Sean Taylor...But WAY better at RB. LEGIT

Its crazy that Dutchtown has had Collins, Lacy, York, Reid, and Reed recently and havent made it to the dome once.

"How this kid is not #1 at his position and not mentioned for #1 overall in the nation is beyond me."..... I'm pretty sure he will be when all is said and done, at least after the all america games. His spark ratings were off the charts at the opening this summer and his team won the 7on7's. The guy is a freak.

The best part of this video is at the :55 second mark where his teammate tries to make the huge block behind him and just gets destroyed by the other player

How is this guy not a top 5 recruit nationally. He's the real deal. A true Ed Reed clone.
Ed reed? Poor comparison
Looks more like a Sean Taylor

Landon Collins

Star safety has idea where he's going
Blue-chip safety Landon Collins lists his top five as Alabama, Florida, LSU, Tennessee and Texas. But it's no secret that the 6-1, 205-pounder from Geismar-Dutchtown, LA will eventually choose between Alabama and LSU.
"I have a general sense of where I'm going," says Collins, who will announce his decision at the Under Armour HS All-American Game on January 5th.
"I'm getting closer and closer to making a final decision before I announce. I'm involving a lot of people in my decision, including my teammates, my family and some friends. The main ones involved will be my dad, my step mom and my mother. But when it comes down to it, I'm going to be independent and pick the school that's best for me. I'm the one who will be going to school and having to bond with the coaches."
Collins is considered one of the nation's top overall prospects.
"All of the schools I'm looking at play a pro defense," he says. "They would utilize my ability as a strong safety. I need to have a trust for the coaching staff and like the atmosphere around the school and the program. That will be big for me."
Here's what Collins says about his favorites.
"I like the staff and the facilities at LSU. They graduate 70 percent of their players. They have a great academic program.
"Texas has their own broadcasting facility. It's a great place to visit. They have amazing coaches. Austin is a great town. You could get lost there.
"Florida is a beautiful place. They have a strong broadcasting program. Plus, my brother has told me that 'The Swamp' is the place to be.
"Tennessee is an up and coming program. The defensive backs coach says they're waiting for me. He says they're losing three safeties. They also have a good broadcasting program, like Texas.
"Roll Tide! It's starts with Nick Saban. Everybody knows that he's the best in the business. He coached me all the way through at their camp. I know if I went to Alabama it would be a lot of competition. But I would go there looking to take somebody's spot. They have a great broadcasting facility. They're building a TV station inside the stadium. Coach Saban showed me the plans of the new facility they're building.
"Coach [Burton] Burns is my recruiting coach. We have a great relationship. He's a great coach and a great guy. He knows a lot of people in my area that I know. I've become close to his wife, Connie."
