I think we still have a shot at Dylan Jackson. I'm not confident in keeping Amadi.

I wonder if Miles/Alleva will consider Raymond more closely at DC due to the timing of all this. He has been a solid coach and is a great recruiter with ties to a lot of the guys we want to keep. If you paired him with the right guys (Orgeron perhaps?), it could at least hold continuity.
I know many Tiger fans will look at such a decision with a lot of skepticism after Malvetto, but Raymond looks a lot more solid from what we know than those guys did. If we go out on a big time DC hunt, take too long, or strike out publicly after what has already happened, it could kill this class. And maybe the next.
What do you guys think? With the right position coaches around him, is this a solid hire considering the time of year and what is happening (or at least looks like is happening)?

I still believe an athlete should pick the school first and the coach second.
Also until this season I had not read where Chavis was considered such an outstanding recruiter. I always thought Miles and Wilson were the best recruiters and Chavis was pretty good when the recruits made their campus visits.

Cory is actually still developing as a solid DB coach...Such a move is way too early for him...

Amadi says he is staying. He doesn't matter though. Phillips was the one we wanted and needed.
We will be fine in the end as far as recruiting is concerned , the issue is does Les sit on his hands with making the new hire or hires. Cannott afford to do that but Les tends to be very slow with these things. From all sounds of it, Les and co have been caught off guard and were still fighting to keep Chavis so we are behind. Can't afford to be slow on this one. Need to reset the board in defensive recruiting

The coach that recruited me in college left after my freshman season to take a HC position. Alot of the guys followed him but I stayed with the school/program. 5 of my close friends ended up playing pro ball including Cadet and Marcus Ball with the saints. Certain players fit certain schemes, you always go with the guy who recruited you for his scheme.
