That story about your buddy was the exact opposite of what you were trying to prove to that guy you replied to. Obviously pro rbs break down quickly in the NFL. Did you buddy actually think about taking it easy in HS and college to be fresher for the NFL? That's what the guy was trying to say. No HS player thinks this way. Most just dream of getting the chance to get there and will ruin their body to do so.

Do you think high school pitchers and their parents worry about being overused in college?

Do you think high school running backs and their parents are less intelligent than high school pitchers?
Stupid comments are your forte...

Yes, I think I think all kids who pitch have to worry about their arms. Pitching is not a natural motion and can be damaging.

Running is a natural motion. Aguement and comparing the 2 is DUMB.
Running into 300 pound men at full speed is NOT natural. Being slammed into sideways by 250 pound men going full speed is NOT natural. Making a 90 degree cut at full speed is NOT natural.

You posting vitriolic, ill-conceived comments that lack substance or common sense . . . now THAT is natural. You've got a TON of God-given talent.

I really just give up on this topic.

Brossette will not choose a college in any way thinking about less wear on his body. Players play and want to play every single down of every game,
You don't have or know a kid who is serious about playing sports on the next level. Kids and their parents think about injuries a lot, and more importantly, how to avoid injuries a lot. Why? Because kids and their parents have more common sense than you.

Of course elite HS athletes are fierce competitors. Of course elite HS athletes want to play as much as possible. HOWEVER, elite HS athletes and their parents give a LOT of thought to playing on the next level. They think about all kind of things. I don't know why you think they are so thoughtless or single-minded.

quote:

I make any wager you need and give you a year to find a college RB who liked one school better because they thought there would be less wear on them by splitting carries and therefore better for their NFL career.
I never said it was THE deciding factor. Few, if any, decisions in life are based on ONE factor.

However, Brossette seems like an intelligent kid. Sure, he's an elite athlete and a fierce competitor, and he wants to play. However, I'm sure he'll consider many factors in his decision about where he will place college ball. And one fact you seem to ignore is that he WILL play wherever he goes. The only way Nick Brossette does not see plenty of playing time is if he gets injured. [Oh, did you see what I did there.]

The thing is, he doesn't have to be the #1 back for four years at LSU to get taken by an NFL team. He doesn't even have to be the #1 back for one year at LSU. If you're an LSU RB and you're good, you'll make it into the NFL. What you do from there is up to you.

You dont know that. You're generalizing the thoughts of thousands of kids and their parents. Dont do that. Its stupid.

All i am saying is that the percentages of staying healthy are in a kids favor if he pkays at a school with other talent to spell him. There should be zero argument with that statement. Now if kids dont know that, maybe they'll read this or maybe more people will share that info. That should be LSU's pitch.

Actually for a while I felt lsu was a rb killer. Too many promising guys over the years leading up to miles tenure getting hurt shortening their career. I embrace the share of the ball. Not only does it give us quality depth, we aren't running our backs into major injuries anymore.

Guice just said that one of the reasons why he chose LSU is that the way LSU rotates their RBs causes LSU's RBs to have less wear and tear on their bodies during college. They go into the NFL fresher.

Had some U-high people tell me that he's slow and won't be as good at LSU haha. Where did he finish among TDs nationally for a career? Last time I remember he was 7th.

Nick needs to know going to LSU we rotate at all positions. So if you want to be a feature back and wear yourself out before going pro, he can go to another school. Having said that, what depth is he talking about?? We have 2 RB's on our team. With Nick and Jice that makes 4. We usually carry 5. Ducre will be a change of pace back and maybe a FB at times. But Ducre will be hammer. He will have big powerful runs. So there will be plenty to go around especially with Jice showing how he can work as a receiver as well.

If you are afraid of competition and are not confident in your skills, then go somewhere where you will be "the biggest fish in the ocean".

He should not be worried about depth at all though. And I have seen Nick's skills they are awesome.

First off, if you are good enough you will hit the field. Period. It doesnt matter who else we recruit or have on the roster... if you are better you will play.

Fairly false, with a dash of truth. Look at Magee; sure he played eventually, but it took two years for him to get carries.

Exactly, finally the topic is brought back to the forefront. The guy is uneasy, he's not thinking WOW, this means a longer deal in the NFL

Wow your reading comprehension is atrocious.

I talk to two of his ex-teammates every day. I'll ask them what they are hearing.
