Was Jamal Adams a part of that Goon Squad team? I'm trying to figure out how he and Paris became good friends

So you mean to tell me in 2015 our starting 22 could look like:

QB - Jennings
RB - The 3 Headed Monster of Fournette/Brossette/Guice
X - Dural/Spears
Y - Dupre/Diarse
Z - Noil/Quinn
T - Brumfield
G - Boutte
C - Pocic
G - Clapp
T - Hawkins

DE - Bower
DT - Bain
DT - Gilmore
DE - Willis
LB - Kwon
LB - Garrett
LB - Beckwith
CB - White
CB - Robinson
FS - Paris
SS - Adams

WANT. WANT. WANT.

There will be some serious competition for many of the starting 11. Competition brings the best out of everyone. With all the top flight DBs coming in, competition will be fierce. Tony Brown will play somewhere, and I think it will be outside, with T. White moving to nickel. This will be by far the fastest defense in the country.

UF should be going in-home soon. Will more than likely send Joker, Durkin, and T-Rob in 1st, then Joker and WM on the 2nd one.

UF still feels like they are the team to beat, but I'll have more info after the initial in-home.

Yeah I think that LSU has had a lot of love shown to it recently by Adams, but we are later to the party than others. Anyone who thinks he is an LSU lock at this point, needs to temper their expectations a tad.

Things are definitely moving in the right direction for LSU, but I'm not sure you can say they lead yet.

Now, after this weekend's official visit, I would be surprised if LSU is anything other than at least tied for the lead with whomever else. Having so many other elite guys on their official at the same time who all should end up at LSU will open Adams' eyes a bit more IMO.

Gator- Isn't the reason Florida thinks they have the lead is their coaches familial relationship with Adams ?... I forget the coaches name

As far as proximity to home- LSU

Playing time - not sure about Florida, but LSU has an opening at safety

Could make an argument about putting Db's in the league but Florida is going to send at least one first round this year, still We ARE DBU --- advantage LSU - see JA's quote for verification.

Friends committed - if he's as close to Paris and TB as I am lead to believe- that's LSU easily

Coaching - see comment in OP... LSU. How can WM promise anything about his staying power? Florida will probably have a true freshman at QB next year, tough to win in SEC if your last name isn't Jennings.

If we are getting his last OV ... Even though we joined "late" ... I think barring a catostrophic weekend ... He's LSU's to lose

Joker Phillips. Jamal's "godfather" or whatever the heck people call it. Played football with Jamal's father.

UF is going into next year with open competition at the safety position. After last season, UF lost both starting safeties. UF rotated guys throughout the year at both spots, and nobody played well enough to secure a spot for next year. Safety was very disappointing this year from a production standpoint at UF. He will compete as a TR FR to start if he picks UF.

I don't put a ton of stock into friends committed, never have.

UF is going to Spread, open QB competition. Obviously Les' track record speaks for itself. Adams loves that he would be used in the Nickel on obvious passing downs and conventional safety on early downs. Similar role to Elam.

I think the OV is big, but UF will have 2 in-homes following his LSU visit. Don't think he is LSU's to lose as of now.

Absolutely I agree that Florida has significant and great qualities that Adams will like but I think that:

Being around Adams and TB as constantly as he will be (all star game, OV, and just close proximity) ... That's a constant LSU influence

LSU too is losing a safety in loston... Who's from Texas and will be a top 3 or 4 round draft pick and was a late commitment ... But from irony aside, Les and chief aren't afraid to play or start freshman and given his physicality .. He will play right away

He loves les, has and will have been to lsu more recently and frequently than Florida. The constant lsu influence and push from Paris will also help keep his attention to P & G. If you don't believe friends have an influence ... See hootie's recruitment for us

I am not arguing with you. Clearly you have made valid and pretty unbiased points. I just think the biggest question I would have for Florida ... How can you promise me The coaches recruiting me will still be there my sophomore year? With so much uncertainty on offense, there just isn't as big a guarantee of consistency there that lsu can promise.

to you and I look forward to enjoying his recruitment with you going forward. Thank you for your input!
