Austin Deculus is also the strongest offensive lineman that LSU has. Hes more than 350 pounds and will play in the inside. Grimes has told me that it was Les's idea to recruit guards because he could turn them into tackles. This thought process is now gone!

He will start out at G and then move to T.

That would be awesome, Clapp and Teuhuma I believe are going to be gone after this year. Hope I am wrong though

Teuhuma will be the one to worry about. I don't think we have to worry about Clapp unless he completely blows it up at playing C.

Sorry for the confusion but does this refer to Deculus or Frumorgan?

Thanks for the info - good stuff!

Ugh, this is crazy this was a legitimate strategy employed by a FORMER OLine guy. Of course, this is Oline theory from 1972. Why on earth they thought this was okay in 2016 is beyond me with how far passing games have evolved and how important QB play is.

I'm not convinced it will take that long.

**ETA - Forgot about sitting out a year....

On another note, coaches think Chaisson will be a better clone of Key

This is not a knock on Chaisson at all, but I'll believe it when I see it. Key is a top half of the 1st round talent.

He would have 3 years to play 2. He is a true sophomore.

Maybe because our passing game and QB play was based off 1972 theory.

He has to sit out next year, though, so he'll really have 2 to play 2 after that.

Deculus needs to be a fricking tackle damnit.

That he needs to coach him and he is a lock to be a 1st rounder. He should step right in at left tackle once KJ graduates. He also said that Grimes wants him to go against key in 1 on 1s everyday for the next year.

He would have been near the top of the most important recruits this year. We need a LT. Badly.

He's a perfect fit. He steps in to LT in '18. Plays 2 years. Our '19 tackle guys, Thomas and Green, redshirt. Our tackle problem is solved.

And Chaisson is not surprising. Watching his film versus Key, Chaisson is the better player coming out of HS. Chaisson was my most wanted recruit. Guy looks like a total animal.

Deculus ain't playing tackle if he is at 350, forget it! He looked slow at times with speed rushers in the all american game. If he is going to play tackle and all indications are that he will at some point in time he can't be weighing no 350.

A friend of mine saw him play a game his senior year &said he was man among men . The people sitting next to my buddy were there to support Chaisson's team and had nothing but good things to say about him , character wise as well as atheletic wise. Said he was a good kid.

We need this guy if Grimes truly believes that about his footwork. I swear to David that I thought Cameron Robinson's sophomore year at Ouachita High School was the most ridiculous feat of athleticism I had ever seen out of a kid that size and ever would see.

Time to make up for that miss and get this kid IN. Get it done Grimes. Put in the work.
