I love all our recruits and our potential recruits until they sign with someone else. Even then, they're still ok as long as they don't sign with Bama, Tenn, UF, or Auburn.

A kid should not base his decision on what people on a message board say about him. He's making a commitment to the school and coaching staff, not random fairhope dipshit. If you want to play somewhere that people won't judge you on a message board go to a small school like ULL because it is going to happen anywhere you go.

oh i agree, like you said, it's retarded if a kid makes a decision to not attend such and such school over a few internet postings.
i do have to wonder, though...how many times Miles or any other coach tells a kid "damnit son, don't read the fukin internet!"

I don't think they sit there and say, I'll show him, I'll go to Bama. I think they read that and say, "Well a lot of the fanbase seems to be dicks and don't like me, so I know I'm not going there.
A lot of the people on this board are knowledgable, but then Boudreaux comes on with his lack of any knowledge pertaining to football, let alone recruiting, and somehow feels he's the guru that can spot talent on the other side of the bayou.
It does get old, and I wouldn't doubt we've lost recruits b/c of this board.

again why does it matter what the fans think of you at that stage? Seems like many other factors like the school itself, the depth chart at your position, the coaching staff, etc. should be higher on your priority list.

The bottom line is, the same people who are going to bash Miles the first year with a sub par recruiting class are the same people that are posting negative comments about recruits... You people want Miles to pull these great players to LSU but your not doing your part by being smart about what you post about these kids.

because it's only human to be offended when people say stuff you don't like - if people were completely rational then you wouldn't have so many silly posts and pissing matches on the rant... or some recruits offended by silly stuff said about them that might or might not be true
most of the people who post here don't have to consider that point of view because they were never in the position to be criticized unfairly like the recruits being fawned over or berated
