Sorry to interrupt this arguement, but I found out the answer to one of your questions Books.

quote:

Define 'friends'

"He and I have a great relationship," Landry remarked about his friendship with Vol assistant Frank Wilson. "We talk quite a bit and every time we talk it's like a father/son type of relationship. I've learned a lot from him. He's a great coach and a great person."

I'm not trying to say we will land him or anything, just thought you would be interested.

2nd place isn't worth much in recruiting, and looks like everyone is battling for 2nd with LSU at the top.

The CB's name is Tyrann Mathieu-New Orleans kid...Add him to the bottom of your list, Flash Rivalright...We don't want him either...Probably end up at one those lesser schools...

Tyrann Mathieu
LINK

"Who is that guy?

From mid-morning through the rest of the afternoon, the buzz from camp observers was about a cornerback from St. Augustine High School in New Orleans named Tyrann Mathieu. Other campers started calling him the truth, as Mathieu made play after play and took every possible rep he could including jumping in front of people. Mathieu, who currently holds no SEC offers, said he would camp at LSU next weekend and has the SEC on his mind.

"I really want to go to an SEC school," Mathieu said. "Tennessee is one of my favorite schools. I am going to camp at LSU and Alabama."

Right and if he does well at the LSU camp then Miles and Cooper will extend an offer. Just like a bunch of other guys both in-state and out of state. That's why they go to camps

91..........what were some of the other CBs at the camp? Did Mathieu have some good competition?

I guess you are worried about "No College Choice Data Available" getting his commitment before LSU does?

Are you saying that he deserves and LSU offer based off of a "who is that" blurb from a UTK camp write up? That is clearly more scientific than my method of watching the guys play football and making an opinion.

You are a joke.

The article says that he's camping at LSU next weekend. Now, he's obviously shined (by your standards at least) at the UTK camp. He's getting a second chance to "shine" at LSU's camp this week.

Do you think we should have a full 2-week tryout for every LA kid so that they can have an acceptable number of chances to prove their worth to the LSU coaches?

Cajun61...

Man, are u at this again. Come on man, seriously. We all love our LA football players. Nobody is saying that. Most of the top prospects get offers. Alot of kids get offers at camp. IF this CB is "the truth" and shows that at camp, he gets an offer. Its not that complicated. Its not some plot against LA kids. Yeah, we miss some sleepers every now and then. But we also do a great job of recruiting out of state and those players have played just as great a role in some of our success. What do you no understand about that.

They get plenty of chances to shine. The coaches spend countless hours watching film. The kid then gets a chance at LSU camps. Then kid can then improve his stock during his senior year. If he's better than the competition he gets the offer, its that easy.

Why not?

Id also like to know what you do for a living and why you don't work as a talent scout since you have such an eye for talented football players.

By the way "Iowa kid" is A.J. Derby from Iowa City, Iowa. Guy's got a name. You're proud of the talent your home state puts out and I'm proud of the talent my home state produces.
