But with all the rumblings of Cai Bates possible flipping, if that happens there will need to be a shake up with the DB staff. Once is a one off coincidence, but multiple times missing out on your top CB commits is a problem. Bates AND Evans flipping, plus the guys they missed on last year, simply cannot happen at LSU.

So...you all for not panicking over a player flipping, but you're going to panic over some rumbles...when we've added more guys at that position?

I keep hearing this buzz around Bates flipping but does anyone actually have intel on him potentially doing this? Or is this all just speculation and a massive overreaction because Evans flipped?

No dont misunderstand what im saying. If things stay the way they are now then we are in a great position. But if the rumblings are true and he does end up flipping, that is just unacceptable at LSU.

Chad Simmons of on3 mentioned it and put Tennessee as possibly flipping him.

We can’t control what these keeps do. We can only control how we react to it. I’m sure the staff is trying to keep him on board. But if he flips, we go after someone else.

His decision is not our responsibility, therefore cannot be “unacceptable at LSU.” We are in the second year of a rebuild. 1) We need bodies. 2) We will have to prove we can develop these young guys. This past class and how they develop next year and beyond will go a long way in that regard. If we start to see progress on the field next season with the guys from the 2023 class, that should have a positive impact on the 2025 class. As it stands, that class is shsp8ng up nicely. More work to do, though.

Just not a good take. If this commit is considering flipping, how do you personally know that LSU isn’t doing everything within their ability to keep him?

OOS state (region) players. It’s more likely to happen. It’s a chance you take.

that is just unacceptable

Based on how often people say this on here, I am convinced many here really understand what that means.

This is such a stupid, pretentious attitude

So kids flip all the time, at ALL schools, but for some reason it’s just totally unacceptable at LSU? Get over yourself. These are 18 year old kids with a lot of money flying around

Oh, it's unacceptable for a blue chip corner from Florida to not play for LSU?

regardless of bates flipping or not the DB staff needs to be seriously evaluated after this cycle

Hey clown, read the damn subject line. It literally says "I'm all about not panicking over a a SINGLE player flipping"

But if Bates ends up flipping it will start to be a trend. Bates, Evans, and Desmond Ricks.

You want to use the from Florida card? I give you Wardell Mack, Derek Williams, and Jacoby Matthews.

That's a pretty terrible attitude and narrow to blame it on money. You don't miss out on every kid because of money. Worst take I've seen in a thread full of them.

their ability
is why they should probably be seriously looked at being replaced if they can't close on some of these guys. Just like you cant teach speed and athleticism, you cant, teach charisma, personality and closing ability. They may be giving the necessary effort, but just don't possess the natural ability to recruit at this level.
