If Joey Freshwater is the OC, is Blake Barnett now in play to transfer to us?

BB is supposed to be eligible 4 games into the next CFB season.

Would be an interesting wrinkle in the LSU/Bama rivalry.

Don't want. We will have enough QB's between our current stable and Scott, Brennan, & Narcisse.

Point was BB already has a year or two under Freshwater's tutelage. Could possibly step in and play right away

I'll pass on a guy that was bad enough to have the starting job, and after 2 series against USC Saban said "frick it, play the freshman"

You do realize kiffin chose a freshman over Blake Barnett right and he is prob the reason he transferred

Scott/Brennan/Narcisse are plenty for the future.

I hope Scott takes it next year, depending on our OC. I thank Etling and Brandon for their time, but we need to get some reps for the future and Scott is a gamer with real talent.

If Kiffin does come, you can expect an interesting QB competition next year, even if Harris does transfer out. I think Etling could absolutely stand in as Jake Coker, who wasn't the most gifted athlete, but was smart and didn't make tons of mistakes.

If he isn't good enough, you have three promising young guys. However, people still need to keep their expectations in check. Jalen Hurts isn't your average freshman, true or redshirt. That isn't a knock on anyone on our roster, either. Most first year QBs just aren't that ready to start in the SEC, as we have seen with Jacob Eason (who is improving), and a 3 year revolving door of guys at A&M.

Assuming that commitments hold, next year will be the best combo of QB talent and depth we've had in several years. Even if Harris transfers, you've got a guy with a solid year of SEC experience, and 3 very talented young guys who will duel to be next up.

Maybe you don't think much of Etling, but Scott, Brennan, and Narcisse are all built to run different variations of the offenses that Kiffin has used. Maybe they were head-scratchers running Miles's offense, but between these guys (with the right OC), we will have a winning SEC QB in a spread offense. You can mark that down right now.

This is more of what I meant. Our "stable" currently is far from special, obviously. However, the incoming talent is promising. I don't think BB coming would help; he is not the right QB for LSU imo.

Not sure why so many are writing off McMillan

He's a guy who came in without a lot of hype and we just haven't seen very much of him so far, so he's under the radar. Scott was the only QB last year and had a lot of hype as a LA high school player, and Brennan and Narcisse both project higher.

All that said. I wish him nothing but the best in the coming competition.
