I hope LSU is looking at this kid for RB.

This is Kaleb Blanchard out of Denham Springs, LA. 6'1" 185lbs. Sophomore year rushed for 1800 yards in 11 games for almost 10 yards a carry. He has great vision and quickness, and the strength to destroy hopes and dreams. Hope LSU is looking at him because he's young and has plenty of time for growth!

Mr. Blanchard...is that you?
FWIW...I do believe LSU will be (if they haven't already) be contacting this kid.
ETA: I think LSU should also look at signing the referee from the very first highlight...homeboy was keeping up with Blanchard running down the field.

Those are some nice runs. Great vision, balance and burst. Good closing speed too.
Hopefully we go after him!

he camped at lsu this year. maybe at a&m also. the question is how may rb you need. if we take hill and bourque then blanchard could be overload unless HE IS REALLY TOO GOOD TO PASS UP.

2013 kid I believe and we will definitely give him a long look.Too early to say a must take but he's definitely worth a look. With the possibility of Ware leaving early and Ford being a possible transfer candidate if he doesn't start to get it soon,I' say 2 rbs in next year's class. With the seemingly profound interest in building our team primarily with instate kids I'd say Blanchard will be in the running for an offer.

Is that the same year as Fournette (sp?) from St Aug? Cause if so, you will have these two guys as well as the McGuire kid from Vandy in Houma.

LSU is already actively recruiting him along with A&M and TCU
A&M combine numbers were 6'1" 197, 4.41 in the forty
This is his junior year
Great size and speed, but he isn't a power back or a freak athlete who just out athletes everyone.
his greatest attribute is actually his vision. He sets up blocks so well and sees things opening up from everywhere on the field it's pretty impressive. Reminiscent of someone like marshal faulk in how everything he does is so smooth

what does "actively recruiting" mean. lsu sends him letters in the mail, invites him to camp etc.
they do this with 50+ kids from la.
any reason to believe lsu is really serious about this kid?

Because Ron Cooper is his contact at LSU and actively recruiting means actively recruiting
Not just sending out letters
ETA, he was one of the 2013 invites to the LSU camp and was there the whole camp as he didn't attend the Bama camp
So they got two days of a great look at him before the other national recruits for 2012 showed on the 3rd day
The local recruiting media guy mentioned that and that he looked good on the radio during that camp

Ps, I know everyone gets letter Its beyond that
Hell I got letters from small school, took a visit with LC, And even talked to a tech recruiter when I was a senior and I was A 5'9" white qb with more ints than Tds

He is the top back in 2013. He will be a take as long as that shoulder gets healed up good. The coaches have been out to watch him practice a few times already and he has camped.

Thanks. McGuire is '14 as well, and a different type of back compared to Fournette, so it's good to see some spacing.

I completely agree.

I just assumed he had an LSU offer.
This kid isn't a stretch, he has the production and the measurables. He's legit.

Dumb. Kalebs name has been all over this board since last season. It's no reach.
He is rated the #2 overal LA prospect for 2013 right now
ETA, why are there two of these?
