Why waste the time most players don't pan out, live up or deliver NC alone. So wait for what you get DEVELOP them and play ball

Yeah, I mean, why even bother recruiting out of high school?

We should only take JUCO transfers, they are "developed".

You can't develop a guy to be 6'3", 250 with a 4.35 40.

Not sure what the pernt is but I think you're asking why fans get caught up in it? I'd say bc it's the lifeblood of the program and it's fun to see who we having coming in...just another way to satisfy the interest in the program and pass the time til next year.

You are either 12 or 90, not sure which, probably a woman, and absolutely clueless about college football.

Yes some folks get pretty fired up about recruiting lol. I understand the passion , but ultimately you're right.... None of us have any control over who we get or don't. Nor do we have any control over how those players develop and yes there are probably more guys in the pros who were not elite recruits than who were, but it's still fun to follow and know the players once the season starts

Lol....3% of three star recruits make it to the NFL. 45% of five stars make it. So on a team of 85, we would likely have about 37 or 38 future NFL players if all were five stars. If all were three stars, we may have 2 or 3. Hmmmm....I know how I want to build my team.

I think the % is even higher than that. You can only develop a moderately athletic player so much. No matter how much practice/film study he does, he's never going to be able to consistently cover a blazing fast WR, or block a monster at DL. A team like Alabama isn't so dominant because Saban is so far ahead of everyone else in college football when it comes to playcalling, coaching, etc. It's because he has the best roster of players year after year. Notice that he wasn't exactly a dominant coach in college until he got dropped into a region with the best players. He also wasn't dominant, at all, when competing in a league where the talent gap between the best team and the worst team is relatively small.

National Champions don't have a roster full of average athletes.
