Yeah I believe he had some grade concerns that led to several schools backing off a bit. I think LSU would have taken him if he wanted in though. He was a beast before his leg injury.

Yes he was.

Hate to see a great talent have a horrible injury like Brown did.

I wouldn't say "to his own personal detriment ". if the kid is talented and he works hard he'll be where he wants to be. If a smaller school was an obstacle to players realizing their potential then you'd see a lot less smaller school pro stars and more big school pro stars if I had to guess. In both environments you have kids who want it and kids who don't. Obviously lsu has seen on more than one occasion both sides. You have the Al Woods and Jeryl Brazil's of the world, and the MO Claibornes Patrick Petersons and Brandon LaFells.
