How do you replace Craig?

While he has gotten some heat on the misses this past cycle, as reported by some as a reason for the dismissal, he has had a very successful recruiting history while at FSU and AU. So not only did we eliminate his recruiting talent, we dismissed our recruiting coordinator.

O has also recruited well, but I want and expect the RC to be at the top of his game. If we expect to lock down the state and compete nationally for blue chip guys, this is a must.

So as your recruiting coordinator, who has had a great history, who do you get to come in to replace that type of gap in your staff?

The new hire seems like a tall order. Not sure this was the right move.

Craig is not the foundation of LSU recruiting. LSU is not going to close the doors because they fired a WR coach. Craig will be fine and LSU will be fine.

Of course LSU will be "fine" and no concern was levied for Criag - it was however for LSU.

This is an important position and an important time at LSU.

The hire is important - just is.

How do you replace a guy that was on staff for one season, that struggled with the duties of being RC and was a so so on the field coach? Yes tall order indeed.

In my mind, I'm already there.

I agree. It's an important hire and my guess is Coach O realizes it to.

Orgeron will hire guys that can recruit. That shouldn't even be a concern

He's no where near the asset Frank Wilson was. Apparently when we hired him away from Aubrun, most of their staff wasn't too mad either

No need for sarcasm - it was a serious question.

Yes his on the field coaching might have been lacking, but losing an ace recruiter at position of RC is important.

I ask again - how do you replace him? Who do you replace him with.

This came to mind on signing day for me. FW would have closed on a few more. The lack of the expected ~27ish was where the results showed up to me.

These 2 hires are very important for O. After filling the last 2 spots with a GA and a senior it'll be interesting what he does here.

The RC role is critical; particularly in the SEC...Now if your boss is a "subject matter expert" in your field, it would put you under a brighter spot light

It's important to have an ace recruiter who can also coach. It sounds like he met 1 of the 2 criteria. O is raising the bar to his level and I like it.

To the OQ, go out and find somebody better. Happens every day in the business world.

Serious question, why hasn't Corey Raymond been considered for the RC role? He's a lights out recruiter and a hell of a coach

Serious or not, I think there was a need for the sarcasm. You got the answer you deserved when you asked how, which suggests Craig is irreplaceable and that is just silly.

They have actually contacted Memphis' wide receivers coach David Johnson.

By hiring someone else?

Come on man, get it together. We hire stud coaches left and right all the time. Trust in O...he will hire exactly who we need at this point and that obviously is not Craig right now.
