He is old school. He is a slower Spencer Ware type, a battering ram, a guy who you have to hit low or he steamrolls you. He has decent enough speed, but not the kind of speed to be a hit the corrner guy in the SEC. Looking at all the film of the guys we are in on, he looks like the toughest inside runner. But he's not a complete " do it all" feature back, but he's definitely a guy that you want. I can see him wrecking people on special teams on day one.

Love the pick up. Kid's a bruiser and is tough to bring down.

Go look at his offer list and relax.

never rely on an offer list. Especially when your dealing with a mid-level prospect because some of those offers are going to be non-committal

Let's see who do I trust more for talent evaluations, the rant, the services that see these guys once maybe twice or our coaches that's been doing this for 20 plus years and have seen him up close at camp while comparing to other great backs?

This guy is the real deal, probably has the best balance of any back in the country and is extremely tough. He has short yardage written all over him. Once he packs on a few more pounds of muscle at 215 to 225 this kid will be a grown man. 3* or 4* who cares as long as he plays like a 5* at LSU we good.

Welcome aboard Chris Curry, can't wait to see this class in purple and gold.

I'm no star gazer by any means, there's been a ton of underrated players that turned out to be super stars. There also are wayyyyy more 2 and 3 star guys than 5 star players. I'm not bashing the coaching staff or being a negatiger, but there is for sure a correlation in top ranked recruiting classes year after year and college performance and record... I'm not talking about this recruit specifically because we need bodies at rb and he has a great offer list, but I feel like a handful of these prospects we could have held off to offer until a little later in the game and still got a commitment later in the game. Several of these kids we are their best offer and are their dream school so if we held off on a commitable offer until midway through their senior year, I feel like we'd still get the commit.

With all that said I'm no coach and they see a lot more of these kids then I do and know the game more than I do. I hope we finish strong!

LSU picks up a lot of underrated 3 star types in La. because it is not scouted as highly as some other states like, Fla. , Texas, Ga., California etc. This occurs particularly early in the recruiting cycle.
This recruit is from Fla. and he is mature (18 yrs old before his senior year).

Whatever LSU does some of you bitch.
If LSU takes a kid early and he has an entire St. Year to play and will be reevaluated long before he arrives you bitch because his star rating is too low.

Then if LSU passes on a kid who is a
3 star with an awesome offer list you
bitch because the LSU staff is being out recruited.

I know, 247 composite rankings are everyone around here's preference and that ESPN recruiting rankings are mocked a lot here, but Curry is a 4 star and ranked 256 in the ESPN 300.

Not a bad pickup but he I also don't think we can expect him to be an All SEC caliber player. I think he lack of speed is going to be a big issue at the next level. He doesn't have elite speed at the high school level so he will be slow by SEC RB standards. Downhill guy that will play an important special teams role. Every team needs players like this but only a select number.
