It's crazy that this kid had several D-1 colleges seriously courting him and now he is in jail facing a fourth arrest in the last few months.

Fleming kicked off hs team

One of the saddest things I've seen posted on this site ever. Kid has enough talent to make millions in the NFL someday.

Sad for a kid with his potential to ruin his chances before his senior year of high school.

He has grade problems as well.

At some point you have to look at the parents and hold them accountable as well.

If that was my child who was in high school, considering his potential, grade problems and behavioral problems, after the fight (second problem) he would have been grounded and able to go to school, work out and study. That would have been it.

I think Fleming has made sure of that, 4 arrests in 6 months.

From the newspaper article:

quote:

"He’s no longer a member of Benton football," said Benton head coach Caleb Guidry at practice this evening. "People usually get three strikes. He got four. I’m in the business to try to help kids, but they have to try to help themselves too."

My initial thought was, if his dad was there to bail him out of jail after each of the four arrests, where was the Dad before the kid was cuffed? But the coach is certainly right, too: there's only so much assistance and guidance you can give a child; at some point they're on their own and need to make correct decisions. Four arrests in six months: agravated assault; underage DUI; contributing; theft? This is beyond tragic. What a sad waste of ability.

Its sad, but what's even worse is he wasn't doing the same thing every time... No telling what this kid got away with or what has been covered up.

I'm a Benton grad, and that has to be the biggest waste of talent I've ever seen at the school.

I know Caleb Guidry. He's a very nice guy but a soft guy in terms of giving second, third chances. I would have kicked the kid off immediately. His fourth arrest made Guidry's choice easier.

If the kid has a path to redemption it will be to a school like ULM or NSU. Maybe La. Tech. LSU doesn't want to touch this kid with a 10 foot pole.
