Why didn't he just commit to lsu then?

May just be smoke. Could also be him hedging his bets. It didn't sound like their staff was super confident would land Noil. It's possible that changes things. That, and the fact that they have 500 WRs, and he is a bit raw and may have to wait his turn. He may just want to play it safe and do some more thinking. We'll see.

Melvin Holland Jr.

Just watched his hudl playoff highlights. Very smooth WR and sub 4.5 speed at 6'3 200lb. Let's try to bring him on board.

ETA: Watched his whole highlight vid and man! We got somebody that flew completely under the radar. They list his speed as 4.47, but he looks like Sammy Watkins out there. Got some soft hands, fluid in his movement and is strong. Already has a starting frame at 6'3 200.

I say drop the Nacho push and go all in on Holland. Full court press, spare no expenses, get this kid here!

Didn't think we had a chance with him. Awesome to hear we are still in it!

That was a pretty detailed position by position breakdown. Since there wasn't any info on Carter, that has me less than optimistic. Hopefully he understands LSU would use his talents best of all those in his list.

Like someone else mentioned, i think this was more about bringing under the radar prospects to our attention.

honestly we are super thin at WR. I know some of y'all don't keep up with us that much but our base set is 4 WR and probably 20% of our plays are 5 WR sets. Given that you'd want a bare minimum 12 but our staff would like around 15. Y'all actually have about the same numbers as we do and run almost exclusively 2 and 3 WRs sets. But WRs are pretty useful on STs and the like as well.

If nothing changed from this moment, including recruits, we'd only have 13 in 2014 but there are rumors of one guy declaring and a couple of others that may not be back. Also, we already know 3 starting spots are open and it's possible all 4 may be. Anyway, despite taking 6 last year, we are no where close to having too many WRs.

No

If nothing changed for us right now we would have 8 and that's assuming two guys being brought in for a look at multiple positions both end up at WR (which isn't likely imo).

I want Iheanacho over holland. He, Dupre, and Washington would make for an absurd deep threat trio. I hope this comes to fruition

I'll defer to you though because I'm as much talking out of my arse about y'alls roster as y'all are about ours. My point is really only that it's a thin position for us regardless of y'alls situation.

I don't buy the whole commitment theory on Iheanacho. He's had that day as his announcement day throughout his recruitment. We get wrapped up in these flip theories and silent commit theories that often are illogical then we wind up disappointed.

I don't think jimmy or LSU would be putting this out there if there was no credibility to it. does not mean it will happen. things change all the time and no way to tell what kid will think in a month.

He just repeats what he hears. Sometimes it's on point, other times it's bullshite.

I don't know man. Someone last night posted someone close to him said the same thing. We were so sure about a couple prospects just a week ago and got shocked. Kenny Young isn't coming here and Dupre is a NSD decision. It's possible he will leave the state. I don't consider anyone a "lock" anymore in this class. We have holes in our walls around the state now.

So yea, when someone says something like that I'm no longer laughing.

Nor should you. There's no such thing as a lock. These are kids, they change their minds. Everyone needs to remember that.

Otherwise we're getting online and cursing out them and their families because they told "sources" one thing that turned out to be not the case.
