Watched a Texas HS fball show "under the lights" and they seemed to think Oliver would be a Mike LB at the college level. Is this even a remote possibility?? If so fills a mega need position.

Um, absolutely not. He's 280 right now with the frame to add more.

wait for him to get up to 300 and he'll be a prototypical free safety.

Something tells me that a guy who is a career DT would have a hard time adjusting to MLB.

Ed Oliver Hudl
This guy is a "Les Miles type FB" He looks like a JC Copeland clone & can REALLY RUN. Ogeron may want to wrestle Oliver away to the DL, and could very well make him a star. But if he would be intrigued by the possibility of playing offense, I say sell him on it. This guy has dynamite potential at FB or DT, IMO.

If he doesn't end up playing FB, then oh well, we would have another star DT here (meaning Oliver, if fullback didn't work out).

Just get him here coach O.... I just can't see him staying with Houston. I guess he could but LSU def has lots of ammo to change his mind.

Levon Kirkland was a mlb in the nfl at 6-1 275.
But he was 6-0 190 in hs ..........30 years ago.
Oliver may have lb quickness, but it only helps him at his dt position. It won't help him be a mlb in college.

He's a 4-3 DE or a penetrating 4-3 DT. His first step and overall speed is elite.

On my wish list, the guy is at the top. Incredible athlete.

Coach O needs to ask him if when his brother dreams, does he wakes up and remember his brother's dreams? Or does he wake up and remember his high school coach's dreams? He has to live his dream, not others dreams. Would he ask his brother or coach to not follow their dreams?
His dream school is LSU. He has the chance to go to his dream school, with the number 1 ranked recruiting class, in a position of need and be coached by one of the top DL coaches in the business. A school that has sent as many or more high draft picks D-linemen to the NFL than any school. Additionally, virtually every game he plays will be on TV. He can compete in the best league in college football against the best players in college football. Its a no brainer. Don't pass on your dreams Ed Oliver.

This guy was one of my top two wants from the get-go...he would do great things for this class...

Personally, I think Bennie Logan is a good comparo for Oliver - although Oliver is obviously a bit more gifted coming out of high school.

Exactly and I just have to think it's not even close to over and Houston will be a nervous wreck if he comes visit here or Coach O goes out there to recruit him. Too many positives that Houston can't begin to touch. If I'm coach O I would let him go to a Houston game then come to ours after and ask him which fans/stadium would you like to dominate in? Houston or Death Valley? All SEC or All Conference USA? You want a degree from LSU or Houston? You want to play with and compete against the SEC which is known for having you ready for the league or Houston where not many come out nor make it in the league. If you'er a back up at LSU you can still make an NFL team. If you're a back up at Houston you're likely done. Just bring him out to BR and a night game pls.

You guys act like Houston is a 1A high school. They definitely aren't on the same level as LSU, but Houston is still not a bad place to be playing football. They've made some upgrades recently.

Nobody discussed or even mentioned that though. We are talking about
1) getting him to the NFL
2) playing night games in the best stadium with the best atmosphere in all of college ball
3) playing against the best competition (from within his team and his conference opponents)
4) be a part of what could become a dynasty with the 2014, 15, and 16 classes
