I don't understand why his ranking is plummeting in both ESPN and 247 rankings! Yes ESPN rankings are a total joke, but I have looked at his film and he seems pretty dominant. Was it b/c he was injured for most of his Jr year? Did he perform poorly at the Under Armour game and workouts? Please advise

There are definitely guys that get those stars early... that have to do a lot of things to keep them... His play is still at the level it was before, but a lot of times I think they expect these kids to grow, or put on more weight, or both... to keep the rating.

Growth projectability is definitely built in to early ratings. Don't keep up with the rest of the guys in your range, see your ranking drop. It is definitely comparing directly to players in your class, and historically against data.

And let's not forget. He committed early. That's boring to the pay sites.

He was so dominant during his sophomore year, that it almost set him up for failure. He was injured all of his junior year, has been a long time commitment, and wasn't absolutely dominating at the under armor game. He played against competition in high school that allowed him to take plays off and still be the best player on the field. Once he gets here, he should flourish as he gets in better shape and has Orgeron lighting a fire up his butt. This is just another example of how pointless stars and rankings are.

Didn't have anything to do with his Jr. year. He had a good Sr. year of ball. AA game may have had some factor on his ranking dropping. I don't think he was ready for the best of the best coming out of 2A ball. He will be fine if he works hard at LSU. He has all the tools to be great.

My nephew goes to STA. Plays football. Other guys on the team say Ed A is lazy. Don't know if true. Just hearsay.

Partially due to the fact that he got hurt. Other then that I can't see any reason for the continued downward ranking.

I've heard the same being from the area. As mentioned above by someone, Ed was allowed to take plays off because he was the best on the field at any time in 2A. He won't have that luxury at LSU. Obviously, Coach O won't tolerate lazy. I'm pulling for Ed.He should be fine with some maturing.

When u are elite, u become bored moreso lazy because it becomes easy to you. He'll be fine after 2-a-days at LSU. Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

I personally watched Logan play a few games and I was not impressed but I'm not a recruiter who makes a living analyzing these kids.

Regardless of the reason, think Ed would be a solid player & glad he's an LSU commit.

Just hope his academics are in order.

people saying he is lazy, out of shape.... etc... maybe the pressure of this has gotten to him. maybe a kid at 16 is not ready for this kind of attention.... this is a young man that is going to THRIVE once he gets out of singular BIG FISH small pond spotlight, and finds a new happy medium in a place surrounded by guys that with push him and support him. he'll play harder because they push him to play harder. he will put in the time because they push him to put in the time. not every prospect is born with the gifts, talents, and drive that show up all at the same time... when he arrives on campus... things will come together, and he will peak when we need him the most.
