So, according to 247 Composite, we have the number 1 dual-threat QB in the nation committed to LSU but hes not the take?

Stop riding Patterson's dick. Not every kid from Louisiana dreams of playing at LSU.

What??! Right now we are still sweating out if the MLB draft will take him! Would love nothing better than to have him pitch for the Tigers!

Maybe, just maybe they are remembering LSU's quarterback situation since Flynn. Hanging our future on one quarterback, Franks, no matter his reputation is foolhardy.
How many Quarterbacks are on Ohio State's roster?
What is the percentage of four and five star quarterbacks who have success.

Uh, sounds like you're dickriding just fine on your own.

Also, don't we have one of those on the bench who say behind the worst qb in the SEC last year? so now we bring in another that may split time between sports? anyone excited about that being our future at qb is brain dead.

it should be overly apparent that Les doesn't favor that type of qb. I have no clue why we even recruit them.

Dual threat means one thing to me...good athletii to get him out of trouble when he can't progress thru reads in time. we have the line, we have the receivers, we have the backs...we DO NOT need a qb that runs.
The guy to take is Patterson if you have to choose one.

There might not be a "choice" between the 2. One wants to be at lsu the other doesn't.

Also franks is not showing up on his high schools team baseball roster for this year. Pretty good indication of which way he is leaning when it comes to the mlb draft.

Based on what? the whole 4 innings he pitched for his high school team last season? LINK

Or that it appears that he isn't even playing baseball this season for his high school? LINK

It's funny how random posts get taken as fact with no research done at all.

FACT.

And Patterson was born in Ohio, moves to Texas in 2008, and then to LA in 2013. So he's only been here a few years.

But I will say this... He's a great QB prospect. But he's recruitment is becoming a circus to me. His brother was working at Arizona, he commits there. Brother gets a job at LSU, decommits from Arizona and opens up his recruitment. Visits Ole Miss and loved it and they are the front runner now. He's gone different ways a lot so far and I expect it to continue all the way to NSD, even if he does commit to Ole Miss. It's not over until they sign the dotted line and send it in. And a lot of things can change.

Zach Lee was not considered a first round prospect prior to his senior year. He jumped onto top 100 prospect lists during his senior year.

Lee was mocked anywhere from round 5 to 15 his senior year. This was due to his obscenely high salary demand tho and not Bc of talent.

I usually go for the louisiana boy, but in this case Filipe committed early.... which is a good thing.

Patterson being a package deal with his brother kinda makes me nauseous.

Besides, I think Filipe is a better passer than given credit for by his label.

I'll take filipe and the 6'7 kid from here and call it a rap

Franks isn't pitching at all his senior year. I'm sure that will do wonders for his prospects.

I think what he is saying is if Franks pitches and becomes good quickly, he could go pro and leave LSU without a QB. I'm guessing.

He didn't play hs baseball last year. Rantards love to think anyone playing baseball will be a first round pick. They thought Terrance Magee was going pro in baseball.

Are you kidding me? His ceiling in baseball is much higher than either of those guys. With his frame, he is currently hitting 92. Add 20-30 lbs and pro coaching, he could easily increase that velocity and become a prime pro prospect.

He is really raw right now, so I don't think he goes in the first round. The 2nd-4th is very plausible, but it all depends on how much a team is willing to spend (there are limits in the new CBA now that bode well for him playing football) and how much confidence they have that they can steer him from college.

But make no doubt about it, he has much more upside in baseball than Chad Jones or Winston ever had.

LSU is fricking up because Patterson wants to go to Ole Miss to be with his brother? Sounds like LSU just didn't have a choice, unless you want them to hire an unqualified coach like Ole miss is doing to get 1 recruit.

Patterson= Robert Lane part II. Will be a flop

Exactly. People don't realize how much the showcases (several of which Franks is attending), travel teams, and upside potential matter to MLB scouts. They could give a frick less if he is a local HS legend. As a matter of fact, if he blows up and shows a fastball consistently 90+, he will look even more impressive because his arm doesn't have that much mileage on it. He could pitch himself into the 2nd round, maybe even late 1st-compensation. Of course, if he tells pro scouts he is going to LSU no matter what, then his stock will plummett.
