Where is everyone who swears he is an elite baseball prospect getting this info from?

According to max preps he only pitched 4 innings last season and this season he isn't even listed on his high school teams roster.

Even when you do a google search for "feleipe franks baseball" not much really comes up.

Bc one person said he was a draft risk and dumb people ran with it. Hell one guy in this thread gave him a second round grade based on 4 innings his sophomore year

If he wanted to be drafted he would be trying to be seen as much as possible and he is not on the team. That should tell people all they need to know about what sport he wants to play.

From this thread, I've learned that Franks is somewhere between instant MLB star and not being able to make my son's little league team.

Good talk.

I didn't say he was a 2nd rounder right now. He can certainly work his way up to that.

According to Next Level Baseball, he is up to 92 and will be attending a few show cases. He is incredibly raw, so the dumbasses comparing him to Zach Lee are completely off base.

About the 4 inning his sophomore year, pro scouts couldn't give a shite. They care about potential. 6'6 210 frame means he can add 20-30 pounds and some serious velocity IF (and that's a big if) he can consistently be around 91-92. He will have to play travel ball or for his HS team though. His stock can certainly rise to 2-5 round, but a team would have to have full confidence he is turning down college. If Franks says he is going to college no matter what, then he is either drafted late (38-40th round) if at all.

That's just how the MLB draft works. THe scouts don't give a shite how much he has thrown in HS. Plus, they figure since his arm doesn't have much mileage on it they can mold him and he is a lower injury risk. In order for his stock to rise though, Franks has to play.

Yes I know how the showcases and travel ball stuff works, I did all that myself when I was in high school.

The most telling fact to me is that he isnt listed on his high school teams roster. He may just doing exclusively showcases and travel ball instead, but that odd for him to do if he wants to get drafted. From my experience everyone does both high school and showcase.

The point I'm getting at is that I know he has an excellent frame for pitching and with the dedication could be a top flight baseball prospect. I just think he wants to play football and that he isn't playing high school baseball this year so he can focus on football. I have no source telling me this, just what it seems like from the outside looking in.

I don't know a ton about Franks and his baseball career, but I'd be really surprised if he was considered as an elite type player in the MLB draft. Winston was coveted coming out because he could play in the outfield, was a switch hitter and could also pitch, hitting between 92-94 with a good slider.

I don't know if Franks has that talent, but if he does I guess it just depends on what he wants to play. Winston would've been one of the top picks in the MLB had he wanted to go that route, instead he got drafted by Texas I think in the 15th.

Should be interesting moving forward, and I hope he decides to come to come to Baton Rouge!

How about some love for the recruiting staff on this matter? All people know how to do is bash.

So, the staff sucks because they locked up (as much as they can before signing day) the top-rated dual threat QB in the NATION two years before NSD? What I've gathered is that people on this board would have preferred that we not go after Franks early in the process and pray that the fickle Patterson picked us. Imagine how bad the criticisms would have been had we not gotten Franks AND Patterson picked OM (or whoever else he is flirting with).

Think of it this way, we WILL end up with the nation's top-rated dual threat QB, and we may end up with the nation's second-rated pocket passer or, if Patterson goes somewhere else, some other lesser-rated QB.
