Have to move guys from other positions. Aranda will make it happen.

I sure hope so. Because if we do end up missing on Gay Phillips and Taylor.....

Ellis Brooks could fall into this category. He's a solid 4* but further down our board.

I don't think we do, but we'd add some other guys like J Harris and Amik(probably still gets in the class). We'll be okay if we stay healthy, but we can't miss on any of our big time LB targets next year. Devin start and don't sleep on Divinity winning Duke's spot. The biggest issue would be lack of anything behind those guys.

I saw that early on we had listed (in the stickied thread) two 4-star LBs in Texas that are committed to a+m. Anthony Hines and Santino Marchiol. Not sure if we really gave them any love or not. I get it being an in-state school to compete with, but, is there really any comparison between Chavis and Aranda when selling a program?

Short answer: no.

Brooks and possibly Tyler Taylor. Both are long shots tho.

We have lots of young Outside Linebackers who can step in at ILB if need be.

Really surprise that LSU has a hard time getting any LB to come especially with how Aranda run the DEF. Any JUCO route possibility?

I think we get Gay. if we miss on Philips I believe Taylor will come into play. So in short its either
Gay/Philips or Gay/Taylor.
Just my opinion

After reading this thread, why the hell wouldn't Gay-Phillips,Ect be knocking down our doors??? The best linebacker coach in all of college football and immediate playing time at a pre-season Top 10 team??? Almost a guaranteed NFL career? OU is where linebacker hopefuls go to fade into obscurity?? Miss State is going to be last in the West forever!!! I don't get it?

What you really mean is that you don't understand teenager thinking. Everyone of those players already thinks he's going to be the best linebacker on the team wherever he goes and will make that defense the best defense in the country.

I don't think many understand how dire the need for interior LB's is.

Devin White is our only true MLB.

Divinity has played outside his entire career, same for Thornton and Donnie Alexander.

Even if all LB's stay healthy, without Gay or Phillips to add depth we will wear down in SEC play.

Taylor is down to Auburn and LSU, he's announcing this week. Gay is a NSD announcement and Phillips will wait until the very end to do a final announcement/decision.

Brooks got an offer from Penn St and is most likely headed there.
