First, you have to Love the guys that want to come to LSU and actually compete for PT. Just wondering how Adams compares to the two defectors. Seems it usually works out that the replacements out perform those that defected. TIA

Jarrett was the closest I’ve seen in this class to a Chase type of receiver. Sucks he didn’t want to come here.

However, Louisiana constantly produces receiver talent. We’ll be fine. Adams is good too.

Ask in 2 years. Hate to quote Gerry Dinardo and I'm sure he wasn't the first one to say this..."the ones that hurt you in recruiting are not the ones you lose but the ones you sign that don't become the players you expected." FWIW, Jarrett didn't do anything in the all star game he played in.

Lol absolutely not. Kind of weird to even ask that question it seems so blatantly obvious. 1 really good underrated WR doesn’t compare to 2 near 5 star WR’s. With that said Jarrett is a clown, and losing those 2 WR’s isn’t going to be impacting our National Title chances in the future.

Jarrett couldn’t catch the ball in the allstar game and practices, kind of hard to judge how his career will go, but might be better for him to go to Maryland in the long run....

This question can’t be answered for 2-3 years.

Hope so.

If not, Boutte will be outstanding. And there are some great receivers in the state of Louisiana in the 2021 class.

It won’t matter. We still have Arik Gilbert and Boutte. Dont forget about Kole Taylor either. We will find a way to get that 6’7” body involved.

IMHO, the larger question is how well will the offensive line and then the QB execute. Without those contributors, receiver talent will struggle.

Don’t be surprised to see Adams become a very good player. He has good size, ball skills and is very fast.

Adams will have better talent throwing him the ball and better talent around him. Jarrett would of been a great WR here, his loss. We will be fine.

Except Chase can catch the ball. Jarrett was struggling to do the most important thing you need a WR to do at the all star practices.

The kid is explosive. Give him time. He should have been rated higher than a 3-Star by some recruiting companies. I am glad LSU got on him before the new coaches at Ole Miss and MSU could influence him to stay home. He is a good catch ... this late in the recruiting process.

Of course not, if we had a choice. Since we didn't then yes. The guy we got improved because we got him. The ones we didn't don't improve us at all.

I'd rank Adams behind the other 2 for sure but I don't think it's that big a difference. The talent levels are pretty close to equal. Where Burton and Jarrett get the advantage is in experience, coaching and skill level of playing the position. Both have been around a lot of strong coaches that helped develop them a little further.
Adams is faster than both and his frame is actually better than Jarrett's who's built pretty good. Adams could be the best athlete of 3. He's got a ton of potential. I actually see Chase in him more than Jarrett. Jarrett is more of a Russell Gage type guy to me. And that's not a slight even if it seems so. Gage has a ton of talent. Not as electric, but a Percy Harvin type. Thick, athletic guy that is just good with the ball no matter how he gets it. Based upon career success I'd put Jarrett somewhere in the middle of those 2 but tilted more towards the Harvin end.
Burton's the best of the 3 imo. He's the miss of the class to me.

I get what you’re saying, but Magnolia is much closer to BR than it is to Oxford or Starkville.

Yes and not just because Adams is at LSU and the others are not. He is part of an entire team. Adams will be much better because he is surrounded by much better players, including other talented receivers to keep the pressure off, a good running game and much better QB play than the others will have.

He was needed for depth based on who left this year and who will leave after next year. No, he’s probably not as good as the other two but we can all agree based on his tape he’s at least a four star talent. Good get.
