I definitely love Kincade and I don't know if it was on here or TSD but someone said he has a Mathieu mindset and I kind of agree. Little guy for his position yet he goes out there and beats the bigger guys while always looking to get better. The kid loves LSU and needs an offer.

I think the Benjamin offer is just that, an offer. It is a weird offer just for the timing and the likelihood that he comes here. I don't see him leaving Florida and us having much of a shot but I guess it doesn't hurt to send an offer to get a feeler. It seems like Massington is gonna have to earn it at camp, and I see him as well as Kincade earning one at camp

Exactly. A lot of things can happen. QBs don't flip as much as other positions but hopefully our offense will make it interesting.

BlueDog is right. You get the Flying Tigers offense in gear this season, and coupled with the beast running game to keep defenses honest, you'll have some recruits rethinking their decisions. If we don't get what we want, we can go the JC route until we do. You're only getting 3 years anyway from here on out if the kid is a stud.

If in the next few seasons, the climate changes again and the second half of the Big 10 season are snow games, guys like GK and Barrett may just handing off, instead of slinging it out in perfect weather. Then again, the prospect playing against Big 10 DB's vs SEC DB's has it's advantages

Why are people so infatuated with Kincade? He's 6' and has average film IMO.

You are also watching his sophomore footage, not to mention he was the top QB at a PASSING camp that featured the likes of Bateman, Barrett, Swoopes and others.

Yet Kincade is underneath Jeremy Johnson on our board. Go watch his film if you really want to see "average"

I watched his film also, he looks like someone throwing the shot put when he throws the ball.

Kincade>>>>>>>>>>>Johnson

Johnson really reminds me of JJ at Destrehan.

IMO.

Kincade is awesome. Great footwork, and very smart with the ball.

Hope he earns his off at camp.

That's what I love about the guy. Very fundamentally sound and he knows he has to be due to his height.

I really think he earns his offer at camp and would be shocked if they didn't

I didn't want to mention this but I feel the same exact way. Maybe with better QB coaching, he will develop.

Time for Jeff to weigh in. Took a look at the Rivals board to see exactly who we have left after recent commitments elsewhere:

Cooper Bateman - Kid wants to play at next level and sees a conference with NFL talent the way to go. Will either sign with PAC-12 or SEC school. Question is whether LSU is that school. 5/10

Connor Mitch - goes to USCe. 2/10

Riley Ferguson - 6/10. I really think this is the pro-style QB worth pursuing. If we have a good year throwing the ball - and show him the love - I think the odds go up to 8/10.

Jeremy Johnson - as others have said, a MAJOR project. 3/10

Boeing Brown - you kidding? From CT? 0/10

Connor Cramer - interesting player. Would probably take LSU in a heartbeat. Has 0 stars so far. Good Tulane prospect. 0/10

Cord Sandberg - with Barrett gone, the next best dual-threat on the board. Offer list long, but LSU is best school (that doesn't have a commitment yet). How bad do we want him? 6/10

Devante Kincaide - kid is an African-American version of Drew Brees: short and not a big arm, but moves well in the pocket, scrambles well, and very accurate. And has that attitude. We SHOULD offer, and if so, I'm betting he takes. 8/10

BOTTOM LINE: don't be surprised if we take 2 QBs. I've said from the start that Liggins future in the NFL would be on defense. If that prediction turns true, and he converts, that would put a need for 2 year classes to fill. Thus, 2 QBs.

Cooper Bateman - I just don't see him making the move across country to LSU or any SEC team for that matter. My money is on Utah with UCLA and Washington being other possibilities.

Connor Mitch - South Carolina; LSU has an outside chance but I just don't think he is serious about us.

Riley Ferguson - He would commit to Alabama if they let him; South Carolina and LSU are next.

Jeremy Johnson - Auburn if they offer; LSU next if we offer; otherwise he goes to Ole Miss.

Devante Kincade - Kansas State or Illinois; LSU could have him if we offer but I honestly believe Les does not like his size and I have doubts he gets an offer.

I disagree. I don't see him not playing in the SEC

A perception of how LSU runs an offense and handles its QBs has been established under Miles and how he used Lee/JJ. Honestly, why would you want to play QB at LSU after watching the last few years? I'm a diehard LSU fan but I would not consider it if I was a top high school QB.

Ok I am tired of all the complaining about these 2. Does anyone remember that Matt Flynn and Jamarcus Russell both played under miles and did very well in the system. Has anyone considered that JJ and Lee were both huge busts at qb. Both were highly rated and both had a ton of offers it was just our bad luck to sign 2 qb's who couldn't handle the pressure in the SEC. Does anyone recall the Ryan perillioux debacle. We were forced to play 2 kids who weren't ready for 2 straight years and the pressure cracked them. Miles has been forced to run the ball because of the deficiency at qb. I think it's awesome that les figured out how to mask our giant hole at that position for 4 years and still win games so give coach miles a break Til you see what he has been wanting to do the last 4 years but has been unable. Also as far as us not being able to land top guys does anyone remember keil being committed to us until mom convinced him to stay home. He was one of the top 2 qb's in the country. Jamarcus, perillioux, Flynn, even JJ and lee were highly sought after not to mention Randall and rivers who are both gonna bs good and mett and there are a lot of qb still interested in us so please stop with the no qb wants to come here argument we have heard enough

Like it or not pal that is the perception out there.

Like I said, a good offense this year could help begin to change that perception.

It's cleary not the universal perception cause tons of big name guys are very interested in coming here. Thomas Bateman Mitch Johnson among others. There is no reason LSU just can't recruit qb I think you are just reacting to one kid picking OSU over us and by the way doesn't mean he wasn't thinking hard about coming here or still wont but urban is a hell of a recruiter so it's not like he chose Houston above us. No more knee jerk reactions.

Right now, they are interested in LSU as a winning program. Based on the fact that we are having a difficult time getting them on the hook with a commitment, though, they are not interested in LSU as a place where they can develop into a great QB.

We have the chance to change that perception this year and I think Miles is smart enough to grab it and ride Mett.
