if tulane can help lock down the state that would be nothing but good for lsu.
as it is... & has been for lil while, most kids either get lsu offers or look to go out of state.
putting a lot quality LA three/two(and some 4) stars on out of state teams.
the less quality players leaving the state the better for the unanimous best team in the state.

Article about how CJ is doing

It is pretty amazing what this guy has done with last year class (came in very late) and this years class. The man inherited a recruiting class ranked around 100th in the country. He as not stepped foot on a sideline yet and the 2013 class is ranked in the 30s by some recurring services.

Tulane is dead in the water until LSU revives the program by putting them on the schedule. Let those losers rot.

I believe Tulane still uses AAU admission standards which are slightly tougher than NCAA standards. And that could defintiely make a difference when talking about kids coming out of high school in this area

Looked at their class on rivals. Unless every two star player is the next JAcob Hester, I am not too worried.

I would love to play Tulane again. I agree that Tulane would benefit greatly if they got to play LSU every year again. You can't help but think some of the guys LSU didn't want would want to stay in-state and play against the school that didn't think they were good enough. I'm not saying he would steal anyone from LSU that Les wanted, but the second tier guys like mentioned in this thread.

He can dominate NOLA 2nd-tier recruiting. It seems like ULL gets most of their guys from MS and LA Tech goes more into TX and north Louisiana. Neither is a big player in NOLA.

Tulane is screwed b/c La Tech is getting better, and A&M is in the SEC.

4th in CUSA and #54 on Rivals.
#39 on 24-7.
If the guy can just get the 2nd tier Louisiana recruits then there's no reason why Tulane can't be competitive in CUSA and in a bowl every yr.

As for his 'This is the state of Tulane' quote back in December, I'm sure that was tongue in cheek but it's something he has to do. The fanbase is small and has an average age of probably 65. He needs to be brash and do something to get some excitement around the program, try to pick up some younger fans (maybe students), and at least get the locals talking about Tulane football.

Not really. First thing, TAMU at most will pick up 4-5 kids from LA and only maybe 1-2 from NOLA at most. Secondly, LA Tech isn't a threat at all. It's in a different part of the state with a different culture and Tulane is a way better education. Tulane won't lose many kids to these programs, especially when most kids from NOLA don't want to go to BFE for school to begin with.

Tulane still has a football team?

(ETA: I looked it up - son of a gun, they do. Perspective wise, Miles, at LSU, has won games that you would have to combine all of the Tulane coaches back to Buddy Teevens - whoever that was - and if Miles wins 20 games over the next 2 seasons, Tulane would have to go all the way back to Mack Brown - 25 years of coaches to equal Miles' production in 9 seasons. If you combined the Saban and Miles wins, just back to 2000, that equals all the wins by Tulane coaches going back to the mid-70s. So, the more you know....)
