Not saying DaveDog isn't full of shite or anything, but there probably is a good reason Quinn quit baseball to focus on getting bigger and more physical. I don't think was at the behest of LSU, per se...but it's something he needed to do to get himself on the level of the other studs we are recruiting this year.

But I hold the belief that Quinn could commit to LSU whenever, wherever.

This makes perfect sense...you believe there were or are concerns about his size, but you don't think the staff has any of those in a year this loaded at WR.

You have now...and it isn't all too uncommon. Again, offers are verbal right now, unless the kid wants to sign and get it over with early.

This information is incorrect as I understand it.
I think you are implying the kids can sign now. They cannot. Not until NSD. ALL commits are verbal until then.

I thought they could sign as soon as they were eligible, no? Once they graduate (a couple of weeks from now, in most instances), they can't sign with whatever school they want UP until NSD (and beyond, in many cases)?

You do realize that all the recruits we are discussing are juniors now, and will graduate in may of 2014. Your basic lack of understanding of how the recruiting/signing process works discredits you as a reliable source.

I don't care about being discredited, man...it's an online message board...I'm just a fan.

Anyway, I was obviously mistaken there...I'm working and wasn't really thinking things through.

Can't recruits sign with their school of choice as soon as they're eligible, though? What I mean is, recruits do NOT have to wait until NSD to officially sign with their school of choice, correct?

NO. Signing day is the first eligible day for signatures. Coached are pushing for early signing period but nothing approved.

PS I believe I'm right but not 100% sure

No player can sign until NSD. Players that enroll for the spring semester because they graduate early from High School are the only exceptions; once they enroll, they are part of the program even though signing day is over a month later.

You guys are correct. Only mid term enrollees can sign before February. This includes early graduate HS srs, JC kids that have already graduated and prep school kids that have completed the required courseload needed to qualify.

I agree that Quinn can commit to LSU at any point he wants. We're not gonna turn down any of the 3 outstanding offers to LA wrs. Noil, Dupre and Quinn will be in the class if they want no matter who else we get at WR. We're completely revamping the wr corps. Likely that Wright, Fobbs, Boone and Williams are gone plus possibilities such as Leslie, Landry and Beckham. That would leave Dural, Diarse, Johnson and Spears plus whichever kids spurn the draft. We need 5 and maybe 6 if they all want in. I personally think Quinn is one of the more likely of the 6 to play immediately along with Williams and Blacknall. I don't see any of them that couldn't push the returnees aside from Upchurch. Dural and Diarse are the only 2 that have yet to play I have any faith in. Avery Johnson is a 50/50 kid and Spears is a tossup as well.

I agree. I am not buying what Dave dog has said. I asked a couple of pay sites and they said that he could commit anytime he wanted to. So I have to take their words for truth.

If Quinn wanted in right now LSU would take him.
