How'd he look against Catholic last night?

He actualy looked a lot better than he looked in the first two games.

I don't know, maybe he plays up to his competition. I saw him blow up some double teams and get a lot more aggresive than he has been. His presence (being double and triple teamed) allowed others to make good plays.

His presence was a definite factor as Catholic made a concerted effort to account for him every play and they ran away from him nearly all night.

From what I saw, except for the first 5 minutes of the 3rd quarter when they tied the game at 13-13, Denham Springs played uninspired all night. It really got bad after Catholic scored to make it 20-13; the Denham boys just "mailed it in" after that.

I was at the game and that's a pretty good assessment.

He looks like a "project" type of prospect as a DL, and he seems kinda bowlegged and needs to get stronger in the upper body. After a redshirt year he could provide some nice depth on our D-line.

Of the current Tigers, I'd say he compares favorably to Josh Downs.

If he compares to Downs with that size then we've got a stud. Downs is the quickest DT we have He's just small.

I hope you're right. Like I said above, I've seen him in 3 games now and until the Catholic game, he really hasn't give me a lot to get excited about.

That being said, I've talked to several parents of players who know him personally and they all say he's a super nice kid; very easy going, very respectful and just doesn't seem to be aggressive at all. My sister-in-law, who teaches at Denham says the same thing about him.

I'm thinking that he's always been so much bigger and stronger than everyone else, that he hasn't had to be "mean and aggressive" to be good. Once he gets to college and he's just another freshman, we may see a beast come out. Friday night, I saw a little bit of what I think he's capable of.

You're an idiot. Guy was the best defensive lineman I have personally ever seen in high school.

You dumb. Glen Dorsey beat that Jay Lucas and Jonell Neal Redemptorist team by himself. Dorsey was unblockable at EA.

Maybe he reads the board and got fired up because of this thread.

Good to hear he looked a little dominate. I'm with a the group that says they are just trusting Brick, Chief & Les. They wouldn't have offered if they didn't think the talent was there. When evaluating they put a lot of stock into whether they think a kid is "coachable" too.

If the rain up here stops, I'm going to watch my young cousin's Bastrop JV & freshmen at Quachita tonight. Planning to get out again Thursday when the Bastrop varsity plays at West Monroe.

Saw Farmervile beat Oak Grove 25-7 this past Friday. Was surprised their defense shut down Oak Grove the way they did.

Lots of good hs football to watch up here right now. Gonna get out and see as much as I can.
