Perhaps you aren't familiar with verb tense. To say the kid IS a priority when to this point we've shown little interest is absurd.
You can project that he will be. Or even opine that he should be. But based on actual things that have taken place to this point in time, there is nothing to suggest that he is a priority.
You can also say he is a "must get" or a "need". But words have meanings and the appropriate ones should be used to describe a situation accurately.
ETA: Also, saying he is a priority implies there is specific knowledge of the actions the coaching staff are taking behind the scenes at this very moment. Or even what their thoughts are. Both of those things are not knowable to this board at this time.

I understand LSU wanting Akers but it seems like they would've offered this kid long before now. He doesn't have a lot of hype but his offer list is big league. If Etienne ends up being our consolation prize then that's more than ok by me.

LSU slept on Ettienne because they could. He isnt and EE and even without an actual offer, kept LSU in his top 3.
If (when) Akers heads to FSU, LSU moves on Ettienne and my guess is he commits shortly after his OV in Jan. Ettinne will be a difference maker type back at LSU. See special teams action as a Frosh, and push for the starting job as a Soph.

So much wrong in this thread. The staff has been communicating with etienne robustly for quite some time now. He was a take regardless of akers decision. With no big time prospects on La. Next year, the staff was prepared to take three this year and look to the next state over for a back.

I hope LSU gets Etienne but calling him under rated isn't really true. The dudes a 4* that's pretty highly rated
