I guess the staff just found out we officially aren't getting Cam Akers? Or is the timing a coincidence

Agree no shot with Akers. He didn't even make an official visit here. While a player has done it in the past committed to a team with no official it is a total anomaly and a pretty good indication of intention.

Think coach O should offer Amik as a running back as well. Dude is electric with the ball in his hands. Would fit perfectly in Canada's offense.

Normally this would be true except this season. Orgeron didn't do any OV's during the regular season so the kids could OV once the permanent staff was in place. Every commit LSU has in this class did so without taking an OV to the school, with the exceptions being the kids who OV'd the 2 weeks before the dead period.
