He did not promise squat to no body. He came here because he wanted to sign with LSU and momma was sorta convinced after CEO got us the championship.

Why can't both these statements be true? They're not logically exclusive and they don't imply by any premises I can follow that they're unlikely both to be true.
Reneging on a promise likely made over text or a phone call to shell out sizable money to make an empty visit to a school you decided you aren't attending is really easy to do, and you figure that someone who values his word enough to eat that cost would be careful not to put himself in that position. Obviously he's young and maybe this is his learning moment on all that, but the whole story sounds like a massive cope from a Gamecock fanbase desperate to rationalize what is objectively pretty bad news for them.

If you’re South Carolina you have to find some kind of way to stay positive. God bless their hearts. Mostly good folk that just can’t compete but they try really hard. I’m completely fine with them spinning this visit. They need whatever they can do to get out of bed each morning
