Charlie from Lafayette asked about recruiting and remaining needs. Orgeron said they needed some help at safety, so they went out and took care of that. “We still need cornerbacks, linebackers, defensive linemen, and we gotta get some offensive linemen,” he said. Later, host Chris Blair asked Orgeron to expand on offensive lineman recruitment. Orgeron said they have one offensive lineman committed who they are very pleased with (an obvious unspoken reference to Garrett Dellinger) and that they are after some of the top guys in the country. “I think that soon a couple of them will commit to us,” he said.

He sounds pretty positive! I pray and hope and I guess we shall see!

We need one and that is Smith! Getting Foreman would be the cherry on top! That's why he said DL.

He's referring to Maason and Korey, what surprises me more is the linebackers. Terrence Lewis or Terrence Cooks maybe?

That's just a nod to Foreman and Smith but also true. The CB and LB thing is the real info here. Plans are in place for making space. How and who is anybody's guess.

I think it was an eye opener this year at LBer!

I agree, just curious as to who he's actually talking about, anybody else have any names that come to mind?

He better, because LSU desperately needs O-linemen. The starting group this season hasn't been particularly good (as a unit) and some of those guys will likely be gone after this year (likely Ingram, Deculus and, maybe, Shannahan). Couple that with the fact Rosenthal seems to be on his way out (3rd lengthy suspension in 3 years) and the 2018, 2019 OL hauls look to be coming up empty. In a year where LSU seemingly could use some OL help, guys like K. Thomas and Bradford can't see the field. That is a BIG concern, IMO.

These two have been extremely disappointing so far! I really thought both(Thomas for sure and I know that injury set him back) would be day one starters! Early on Coach O stated that Bradford might be the best O-Lineman on the team and yet he hasn't sniffed the playing field.

Definitely a concern. Back in February - even before the (seemingly lack of???) development of Bradford and Thomas, I felt we needed NEEDED 5 OL signees in this class. I had actually penciled in six.

That turned out to be a pipe dream

Don't lose faith in that just yet. I think a few spots will be dropped in order to get just that! That will be easier said then done though because this is already a top 3 class, so who do you drop?

Bradford is battling weight I believe.

Probably right. He was an OT, but the added weight doesn't help the desired lateral speed required to play OT. He's now listed at OG. He could be a real mauler at OG, but Cregg's zone blocking scheme may be more geared toward agile OL.

Smith
Foreman
Leigh
Surprise ILB
Surprise OL
This would be my dream finish assuming 2-3 players decommit. If 3 decommit, save the last spot for a transfer guy or go get another ILB/CB.

I posted this on another site about a week ago. If we can find the players I imagine our finish looks something like this

That was VERY foolish of you. It is very rare for a true freshman to start on the offensive line for a college football titan. Even the second year is uncommon.

This was my thought as well, however, I'll say this for Orgeron, he signs high quality offensive linemen. When that's the case you don't need as many.

but Grime's zone blocking scheme

Grime's is the OC for BYU. I think you mean James Cregg
