If he decides Texas, so be it. Charlie Strong won't be there in two years. Shaky program at best. Makes us look ultra solid with the coaching staff, returnees, incoming class.

I agree Honest Tune. Word is Herman wants the job and if Strong doesn't turn things around this year it will be his

I'm going to hate what might happen to Strong.

Right now he is getting out all the crap that the UT admins let fester with Mack Brown in his final 5-6 years. The entitled and undisciplined MB kids are either sent packing or graduating. Some of his best players this year were true freshmen from his first full class. They'll again finish strong by loading up on the defense late in the game.

He just hired a young OC/QB coach who coached Garoppolo at Illinois St, and Dane Evans this year at Tulsa. This guy has deep roots in Texas as he played and coached high school there while also being a grad assistant at Houston when Art Briles was there. He has since held positions under Babers and Montgomery, both Briles disciples. He got a new OL coach that was desperately needed and they had a top 20 run game with a sophomore and true freshman running the show. Just picked up a very accurate dual threat early enrolle that likely pushes for the starting job.

Hopefully he can pull out an 8 or 9 win season. That team should be really good in 2017.

Then when Miles leaves after 2017 with 2 national championships, LSU grabs Tom Herman (please let this happen). Hopefully Sumlin isn't fired either. Keep all his head coaching top dollar Texas options closed.

I know, that's why I said I hope that Strong and Sumlin can hold on to their jobs. If the Texas job is not available within the next two years, I think he'd jump at a powerhouse HC position paying 5+ mill

Wish we could have had Giles. Not gonna lie, but let's be thankful for Lawrence, big Ed and Logan guys. We didn't pay Giles any attention until late December. You can't expect him to just jump on board when other schools showed him love much earlier. We really also should have kept pursuing S. Manuel... I know he had a bad year, but with time we could have got him back on track.

Brother, you're missing the point. He may 100% be all horns. I am not saying that you won't, in fact, be right. I will make no assertions that he is doing one or the other. I'm just saying that your source is the UT board equivalent of DALSU. Over the years (I wasn't always fratigerguy) I have seen this scenario play out dozens of times. Sometimes they are right, sometimes they are wrong. But one thing is for sure...eventually they ALL end up being wrong. And by digging your feet in, it just makes it worse when the inevitable comes (and it may not be this time).

Maybe that is because Coach O has Rashan Gary wrapped up and he saw the writing on the wall?

Charlie is fired after next year. They will win 5 games next year max. Why would any player want to go to that dumpster fire.

Any player choosing Texas over LSU doesn't want to play for a winner. Charlie Strong will be fired after 3 losing seasons back to back to back.

When the word on the LSU side of things is "we aren't very confident", when Orgeron basically stops talking to him, and when UT insiders list him at 95% that means I have bad information??? For your information sir I am not DALSU and I don't claim stuff I have no knowledge about. The same insiders list Fowler at 35% chance of flipping to Texas. As you can tell he's not just a lame sunshine pumper.

I don't know if you have followed Giles recruitment at all but Texas was all over him before we ever got interested. They pulled him out from under our nose. We have a great class and I'm not complaining but sometimes one like this just gets away. In this case, we were a little too late to the party. We actually offered him a scholarship while he was on the way to a UT visit. Chalk this one up as a Prescott like miss except we needed Prescott more. We are fine at DT.

Saying that someone somewhere will never be wrong is like saying they are God. It's a shame when someone gets on here with good information and then gets bashed for it.

To the question above, I dont have as much info on Martin. He has not bitten on our recent push. Word is Orgeron had a good visit with him yesterday. He could flip but he appears to be more than likely headed to TCU. We haven't given up on Martin. We have on Giles

this would excite me very much. at my age I have to be careful tho.

I would like Giles but we have a great DL haul and with O on board we'll get replenished every year.

If Miles wins another national title in the next 2 years, no way he retires.

His contract is through 2019 and he'll want to finish that out. I guarantee it.

Now if he doesn't win, there's the possibility he gets forced out sooner.

Texas job might be available in 10 months. It is one thing to be out recruited by OU. But Texas' recruiting class is behind Baylor, A&M, Houston, and TCU.

No way should the Longhorns have the 5th best recruiting class in their state.
