This the only thing I would add is anymore. Notre Dame, Nebraska, Bama, and Miami used to be able to recruit themselves because they were on tv every week but that is no more. Every team plays on tv now and the NFL has proven they will draft you no matter where you go to school. Coaches have to recruit and recruit well to make it these days.

It's going to be tough, because the state of Alabama produces linebackers like Louisiana produces DB's and WR's.

Kwon Alexander, Rolando McClain, CJ Mosley, Reggie Ragland, Rueben Foster, Rashaan Evans, Mack Wilson, Ben Davis..All recent 4 or 5 star players that produced in college or in the case of the last two are entering their freshman season. It's just a position that the state produces an odd number of great players relative to the population

Running a 3=4 Defense helps LB recruiting for obvious reasons as well.

This is why so many schools are turning to the 3-4...recruiting advantages that go further than you've indicated...recruiting is the name of the game...
