Jbeam,

Louisiana connections for the rest of his life.

5 stars Lane and Rudolph will be in FSUs class. Definitely not smart to join that class with OBJ and Jarvis leaving.

Smart enough for you?

And the "business decision" comment I believe is for all the twitter followers he has and to the schools who recruited him. Plain and simple

I am not holding my breathe for either one of these guys. Never had a good feeling with either, Young for sure. If we get one it will be Dupre. I don't think we have a fighters chance with Young.

no matter how good you think you are, it is not a good business decision to join 2 other 5* wrs in one class and to go play for a one and done qb. don't see how he going to fl. state with this type comment.

This gets overblown so much.

Don't get wrong I'd love for him to commit to LSU. But, let's not confuse our own feelings with LSU being the smartest move for him. That term gets thrown out entirely too much.

Agree so much with this. It's not like IF he went out of state he couldn't/wouldn't make connections in the state where he plays. I've hired UGA grads, MSU grads, LSU grads, etc. I hire based on who helps grow my business - not who played football for my favorite team.

At least Dupre to LSU makes sense because he reportedly was a host to other recruits during his LSU visits.

I've heard nothing from the Kenny Young front that makes me think he's even interested in LSU, add to that he's mentioned that he wanted to go out of state. The kid's being honest with his intentions at least. It's been nothing but pure hope with him, not expecting him to come to LSU and would be shocked if he did.

Yeah I have to respectfully disagree with you there. If you don't make it in football, you better be willing to make it in business in the town that you played collegiate football in. No LSU fan, alumni or booster will touch you with a ten foot pole. Fact! But we can write 100 pages about this.

Judging by Dupre's background, he'll be fine wherever he goes.

I hope he ends up at LSU. But, I'd take a long look at the QB situation at LSU before signing the dotted line.

Agree the smartest decision would be for them to come to LSU but face it

How is this the "smart" decision?

1)Both would play for guys who coached and teach an n.f.l. brand of football. Jimbo is a good offensive coach, he's no where near the n.f.l. mind as cam cameron. If m.d. wants to learn n.f.l. routes, technique, blocking, and offensive system, cam is the guy you play for. it's not even close.

Chavis has coached more lbs who's had success in the n.f.l. then sumlin and mora combined. The lsu d.c. actually coaches your position. He's one of the best if not the best.

2)If you want family to see you play or be there if you have a difficult time (injury, girl, heaven forbit legal trouble) you are better off close to home where people can help you.

3)B.R. is one hour away from a n.f.l. team where coaches come to practice weekley on their way to the saints to evaluate the talent. great exposure.

4)life other than and after football. If you don't make it at the n.f.l. level, you stand a better chance at being successful as a ex-lsu player in the state of louisiana then out of state. (don't think this isn't a factor).

5)Lsu provide as good or better football program as any school they are looking at. There is only one program that can equal the success of lsu on the field and placing player in the n.f.l. during miles tenure

6)Lsu provides as good as education as any other program they are looking at.

7)Both are guys who would come into positions of need and opportunity for both to play early.

8)They both could play in the s.e.c. which is the best competition and preparation for the n.f.l. When the draft and scouts see you excel in this league, it carey's more weight. (atm is the only other school one of them is looking at that provides such an opportunity.)

I'll stop there. it's really not even a close decision. Unfortunately, players and fans take it for granted.

Not a fact. If I thought he was most qualified for a position I have and would help my business then I'd hire him. Not every former player goes into sales. Some go into back office positions or management roles.

Also, this whole "he won't work in this state" mentality has to stop. It is NOT a selling point to kids from LA. It actually makes it clear that some people ONLY care about them as players and not as people. It is actually counter-productive.

The qb situation at all of his finalists is basically up in the air. Winston and hundley wont be there for more than his freshman yr so they have just as much uncertainty at the qb spot as lsu (as it pertains to dupre).

Entirely too much sunshine pumping in that post. With everything you just posted we should have gone 5for5 back in January. Some of you need to be grounded.

Or another school that sends people to the NFL, like any other he's considering.

I love LSU and hope he comes, but it's not like we have a monopoly on NFL success.

How many other players make a "business decision" and leave the state? To me that phrase lets everyone know they are not coming to LSU.

Jimbo's put two QBs in the league and drafted in the 1st Rd. I really have no worries that FSU will be able to land another top tier QB.

I completely agree with you when it comes to Mora & UCLA. Nobody knows who will follow Hundley.

Maybe...but if you have to tweet about making a business decision, you're not discussing the home state team. No reason to allude to that if you're signing in-state.
