How is it that they got crushed so badly by Brother Martin? The kid seems to have his way with defenses every week except Bro Mart.

He was ok but didn't really stand out in A scrimmage against Catholic High just prior to the season starting as well.

That being said, I've kept up with him this year and it truly looks like he has "it"!! Everyone can have a bad day here and there. Can't wait to see him in the P&G

I'm going to say it til I'm blue in the face, but LSU is wasting a lot if they don't go full spread offense next year. Brennan passes like a maniac and is a legit rushing threat. He'll need to bulk up, but if he could get to 190 something, I say let's see what he can do as a true freshman.

I hope we continue to spread it out but I'm glad he'll be able to sit or redshirt next year. It's going to pay off not having to play our freshmen QB's like we did under miles.

He's going to shatter the mold about LSU and QB's.

But I think those days are gone with Les anyway.

I'm glad he's having continued success this year. I watched him in the playoffs last year and he was just so small. Hopefully he can put some weight on.

MB is going to throw 400-500 per game against MS competition. No knock on the kid, but he plays against trash. I waited all summer to see him vs Brother Martin again. He played solid, but was no diff than I would expect a kid with tools, on a team that's gonna spin it 30-50 attempts a game.

Kid can't help who he plays against. But if MS 4A numbers wise, is like our 3A, 2A, the two incoming QBs will be the only QBs on scholarship to have come from the lower classes. Comp is not the same. Just isn't.

No squad that gives up 8 TDs and 500 yards passing, could be a legit comp. Lots of bubbles and short routes turning in to big plays vs squads that can't cover and can't tackle. I want to see MB in PG. I've seen guys that were ready to take snaps day 1. He is not.

As to 5 star? They usually want to see the unusual everything (including size).

That's kinda like saying Eli and Peyton were over rated in HS and their productivity was primarily because they played for little arse Newman who plays no competition at all relatively speaking. I wonder how that turned out for them at the next level and the level after that.. not saying Brennan is a Manning yet, just saying if you have the gift at one level you more than likely will have it at any level against any competition. Its all relative..

"Kinda" is pretty important here.

(1) La. Top 2A-3As (Jonh Curtis, Parkview, West Feliciana, Evangel etc) are not giving you 500 yds 8 Tds. Not happening.

(2) As to the Mannings, the level of competition is a question mark that they had to answer. They answered. Does not change the fact that 2A ball presented the question.

(2b) Having NFL pedigree might have made answering that question a bit easier.

(3) It's naive if you believe that the level of competition has not aided in his production statistically.

PS I hope he throws for 800 next week. But the competition level causes me to be hopeful, and play wait and see, rather than make statements which seem to go beyond "hope", and border naïveté.

Brennan did pretty darn good at Elite 11 and The Nike Opening against the best defense cover guys in the country. He finished in the top 5 or 6 qbs QBs the nation. Not bad for a kid that plays against trash. He will be good wherever he ends up.
