LSU Football in Signing Class Rankings

Year Rivals.com 247sports.com Scout.com ESPN.com
2016
2015 8 6 12 10
2014 2 2 2 2
2013 6 6 9 7

2012 18 14 6 14
2011 6 8 t8 10
2010 6 8 7 8
2009 2 1 3 1
2008 11 12 7 11
2007 4 5 5 6
2006 7 9 t7 8
2005 22 13 19 N/A
2004 2 3 2 N/A
2003 1 3 2 N/A
2002 15 21 15 N/A

2013 avg. = 7
2014 avg. = 2
2015 avg. = 9
2016 avg. = 3 (247 composite)

I know a few guys left early, but the 2016 roster is likely the most talented ever from top to bottom. 2011 may have had a few more guys at the top (RR, TM, ER, etc.) but this roster may be deeper.

Nice work. We have recovered from the 2012 recruiting year and now have as much talent as any team except bama. If BH improves and stays healthy look out.

That '12 class had some pretty darn good players in it. I don't think it was so bad that we had to recover from it.

It was a class of stars. VERY top heavy, a few role players, and then a huge drop off after that.

2012 either outperformed their rankings or were underrated.

AND we still didn't make up any ground on Alabama...!!!

Until we beat them in recruiting, nothing will change...!!!

Interesting we could not ride a 13-1 season better.

Not true

Have beaten Bama before with lesser players

Offensive game plan and QB okay are why we lose to Bama. Watching LSU get out coached 5 times in a row is tough.

Drop off after the 2007 National Title and the 2011 SEC Title. Kind of interesting to note.

Once. And we all know what happened next in the Superdome...!!!

Exactly...!!!

To beat Alabama, we have to have better athletes across the board, not just a running back. Better o-line, better linebackers, better q-back, etc...

We're fooling ourselves thinking we're going to compete for a National Championship until we can beat Alabama. And we're not going to beat them with coaching. Just my opinion and I'll be the first one back on here if we beat Bama to admit I was wrong. BUT, if we lose again, you're going to remember this...!!!

Who is thinking this? I think we're all in agreement that in order to win a championship or even a SEC West championship we're going to have to beat bama. Gonna have to beat Arkansas and Ole Miss too.

But I agree that we aren't going to beat them with coaching...offensively. Defensively I think we're about to take it to another level.

The same could be said about most classes at LSU or anywhere else. You're going to have a few stars, a few role players, and then some guys that make no significant contribution. Not even bama hits on every player.

But about 15 of those guys from 2012 made significant contributions to the team. That's not that bad.

First off let me say. You're are full of shite.
Your hypothesis is completely negated because we beat Bama and they still won the MNC.
Along with superior athletes Alabama also fortifies themselves with exceptional coaches that teach and motivate their players.
LSU is hiring these exceptional coaches now and getting these superior recruits.
All that's left is teaching them and motivating them.
I have seen teams with less talent beat Alabama because they came in with a gameplan and executed it.

Look for LSU to start contending for championships and being an elite team again very soon.
They have a blueprint for success and they are utilizing it.

Keep waiting for doom and gloom if you choose to, I'm seeing factual evidence that will make this team great again. I'm not just hoping they pull a rabbit out of their hat. The proof is there.

Teams usually reap the benefits of a national championship or sec championship the next recruiting cycle (i.e. 2009 and 2013 for LSU). Majority of the recruiting is done before a team wins the NC with only a month before signing day.

Actually Miles outcoached Saban in the last game in Tiger Stadium. The ball didn't bounce LSUs way in the last 5 minutes. LSU had control of that entire game up until OT

You stand in your line I'll stand in mine....

Before coming here and whining and belittling the coaches and players in every post I'd just stop posting.

I'm a fan of LSU and I support them.
But just as soon as they start winning championships again, you bandwagon fans will be singing their praises again....
