Blakeney first guy off the bench as a scorer (hopefully)
Are you serious? He starts this year, what makes you think he won't start next season if he returns?

Just for the record Quarterman is projected 1st round. So not probably gone he is gone.
Where do you see this? I know he has the build for an NBA player and i think he will have a great NBA career. But, most mocks i look at for 2016 don't have him listed and if they do its middle 2nd round. Now for 2017, he is on every mock draft anywhere from middle 1st to first part of 2nd.

Let me fix this for you:
PG: Mays, Patterson
SG: Blakeney, Sampson
SF: Jenkins, Kieran Hayward
PF: Victor, Epps, Sims, Bridge
C: Reath, Robinson, Malone

He wont be starting for long with the way he's playing. I'm assuming he improves, but not to the level he was touted at. Plus we're going to need some sort of scoring option off the bench. Coming off the bench doesnt mean he'll only play like 15-20 minutes.

I'm pretty sure Jenkins plays some point for his juco team. He will probably handle the ball more than Patterson. I am happy to finally see Patterson drive to the basket instead of being 1 dimensional.

He was listed 1st round earlier this season, dropped because he struggled. Last night every NBA scout just saw him tear apart one of the most talented rosters in college, he is about to shoot up majorly.

How good is Kieran Hayward? Looks talented, but plays against weak competition.

Given, Quartermann has long been a goner. But Blankeney isn't going anywhere for a while
Yall do realize that quarterman is no where near the first rd in any recent mock draft and undrafted in most. One good game will not put him back into the first rd lol.

because of one game?! Come on man you're better than that. Now if we make it to march and he's consistent and has a big game then. Then he'll start shooting up the boards.

Against the best competition he'll play all year, in front of every NBA scout there is. Playing like in front of the people he did will leave a lasting impression.
It's not about just "1 game", it's about his best game against the best talent in front of all the scouts that were there.

We'll lose Hornsby, Gray, Simmoms definitely. Quarterman is probably gone as well.
So, we're left with the following:
PG: Mays, Patterson
SG: Sampson, Blakeney, Kieran Hayward, Jenkins
SF: Wayde Sims
PF: Victor, Epps
C: Reath, Robinson
That's a sketchy lineup. What's the deal with recruiting? I'm not expecting Ben Simmons every year, but aside from Mays, this is an underwhelming class, and the following year appears to be headed in the same direction. Mitchell Robinson has already committed to AM.
If Epps and Robinson keep improving with Victor down low they could be deep down there. I think Blakeney will come back because he will be the guy and want to show he can lead a team for scouts. Need to find a 3 but i think they will still be decent. Not as talented as this year but more experienced with good depth.
Two years when Epps Robinson and Patterson are seniors they could be a lot like Wisconsin last year. Veteran guys and very deep if you develop a couple young guys next year.

A lot of this depends on the future of Johnny Jones.
I know we just beat UK and Vandy on the road, but we have a top 10 roster in terms of talent and we have severely underperformed. Missing the NCAA would not be good for him.
Not saying he'd be fired, but his seat would get hotttt.

I just think your dead wrong.
Patterson has proven he can be effective.
Sampson, tone, and mays are great athletes at the 1/2.
We will be deep down low, and victor will be good again. If epps takes another step forward we will be in really good shape there.
Scoring definitely could be an issue, but we will have a deep experienced line up. Probably playing a guard rather than a true three like this year but that is the way college ball is moving.
This group also sets a good foundation to play with some electric recruits Louisiana has coming up in 2017. We need to hit on those guys but I expect we will still be in the top 5 in the SEC next year.

You obviously didn't watch hjs play last year through March that lead to NCAA play which caused him to be mentioned as a possible 1st rounder!!

I'm not up on Basketball recruiting, so can somebody explain to me why Vital, Lard, Peters, and Williams all decided to pursue colleges out of state?
I assume Ben Howland is a big reason why Peters chose MSU? I heard Williams chose A&M because of his AAU team or something like that? Vital was sold on the being another Rico Gathers? LSU wasn't high on Lard?? I'm just trying to piece the puzzle, don't kill me.

Me too. I thought Jones was renowned as a recruiter, and to a certain extent, he has lived up to the billing, but unless David Patrick has another Godson, I can't foresee continued success if he continues to lose top flight talent in-state.
The roster next year is not bad, but make no mistake about it, we're losing the top pick in the draft. That hurts anyone. And Hornsby.
Is it even NCAA tourney worthy is questionable, and that's tge standard. We're bringing in Skylar Mays, but the top recruits in LA, sans Mays, are, once again, leaving the state. And we're replacing them with Reath, who reminds me of the Odo signing. We're guard heavy apart from Victor, who I really like, but I don't see anyone coming in who even adds quality depth in the post, and the future beyond next year looks even more questionable.

That's harsh on Duop Reath. I just saw some of his mixtape at Lees College and he looks pretty good. Hit some 3s, looked comfortable with the ball in his hand outside the paint, had some nice fade-away/turn around jumpshots. Needs to add a ton of muscle tho if he plans to play down low for LSU.
lol you would think Vital or Lard would be gets because we're going to be sorely lacking at forward, but guess not.
