I think Evan Powell was the back up 3B for most of the year so I assume he will be given a chance to earn the starting job next year.

No way Rhymes goes back to DH. Absolutely no way. He probably won't come back if that happens. He can't improve his stock if he's going to be a DH. He needs to show a defensive position and improve his power. He's a really slow OF, so I can't see him there again. I could see him at 1B. I doubt he goes to 3B, don't think he has the arm. If all else fails, he'll get a OF spot. And honestly, I love Rhymes but he's a liability out in OF. He doesn't have the range to play that position.

Fields and Yocum are almost surely not going to be back on this team, IMO. Katz might move to a RF/LF position or take 1B/3B or a DH role. He wasn't drafted so he has no choice but to take a DH role if LSU puts him in one. Don't think he's a 3B either.

We need speed in our OF though. I just don't see Rhymes, Katz and Edwards out there this season. Unless they have amazing offense to make up for it and they have no choice but to put them there. I'd rather sit on the philosophy of amazing defense and great pitching. I have no faith Javi can develop our hitting talent.

Abry couldn't hit but he was great in CF. The full game with Katz at CF I thought there was a decent dropoff. I hope to be able to get a mixture of the two. It's kinda unrealistic to ask for someone with the range of Arby while batting like Rhymes but a better mixture at least.

You do know kids who play outfield in little league are usually the shitty ones, right?

Arby is a dead bat. Don't care how good he is in the OF, if he can't get a hit, he's worthless. It isn't like he's playing SS for his defense. He's playing OF, which is probably the least valuable position defensively. Infield is where you need your best defensive gloves. I know we sucked in OF this year but when you have Katz, Rhymes and Edwards out there...that tells you how not so valuable it is compared to infield. I think we'll get a mixture of speed+bats with the OF next year. I don't see Arby back on this team unless by some miracle he shows significant improvement in his bat. We have too many incoming young OFs who are fast we can develop for 3 years...

I have no idea how Sciambra plays into all this, assuming he's medical cleared to play next year and actually shows a decent bat...

Arby isn't a great defensive OF either. I dont expect him back next year. I think PM will do everything he can to get Rhymes and Katz a position on D and leave them to help their draft stock. They both have got to find a position and play good D. The only problem is they both kinda project at the same places. I think one of them will find a spot at corner OF, but if that's the case, the other needs to be in the INF. We dont want both of them in the same OF.

Rhymes played 2B at LSUE. If he proves he can get it done there, JJ can easily be moved another spot. Possibly CF or SS. If he moves to center it would allow Sciambra to play the other corner OF spot, assuming he's healthy and can hit. That's a huge upgrade over the athlecticism we saw in the OF last weekend.

I truly do not understand why PM did not offer Dellocono a spot on the team. He is a career .400 hitting lefty that was all state 3 years. Extremely athletic considering he was aslo the starting QB and point guard for three years as well. He is going to ULM instead. I really think this will be another Dugas situation.

Disagree. Catcher, SS and CF are the 3 most important positions IMO.
