How many of those 15 that got redshirted saw the field last season?

It's not gonna happen.

If you have tuition paid at both universities, then the difference in salary, as your comparison puts it, isn't all that great. Also, on the other side of the spectrum, many kids take offers to McNeese over offers to ULL. Why would they do that?

It makes no sense. That's like saying I'm gonna work at LSU for $20,000 (with no authority) instead of working at ULL for $120,000.00 (with authority). But I'm at LSU.
are you just really that stupid that you cant grasp the fact that to some people, things like plaing for the team you grew up a fan of would be more important?
and once again, how in the hell does what you just typed have any relevance to this thread?

I tried to put it in simple adult terms for you. Just encourage him to be a manager.

If that was an option and it's not. Get into the real world.

The option for him to play for the school he grew up watching. If LSU had plans for him he'd have an offer from them. Now do you understand?

So, basically, if a walk-on is valued, and a scholarship for his year of entry opens up, he can be back-dated as a scholarship athlete and he'll count towards the 25 annual limit, right? If that's so, and it's been shown to him as a distinct possibility based upon historical averages, then, really, it's not a bad call. Also, LSU picks up a quality back-up who can be useful in practice and maybe in the game, too.
Here's a quick link on Bailey.

if he has been offered the chance to come in as a preferred walkon, then yes he does in fact have the option to play for the school he grew up watching.
i understand perfectly. its blatantly obvious that you do not. after seeing your posts in this thread and in other threads on here, your best course of action from this point would be to never post again.

scholarships are renewed on an annual basis. if there are not 85 scholarship players on the roster for a given season, the coaches will usually give the remaining available scholarships to walkons, usually the ones that contribute the most to the team. when that year is up, the coaches have the option of renewing their scholarship again the next year or giving it to someone else.

Your kidding me! I have some eligibility left to play, maybe I should enroll and walk-on too and then I'll be a tiger. That's sounds crazy.

He never said he was accepting the offer. If you read the article in the advocate he is still looking at other schools. This is just one option.

see this is how i know you dont understand.
as a preferred walkon, bailey is guaranteed a spot on the team, for at least a year. you trying to walkon, nothing is guaranteed to you.
but please do let the rest of the board know when you plan to go tryout to walkon. i know i will be there to watch so i can laugh my arse off. im sure the other people on the board will want to do the same.
