It shouldn't be about the money, it needs to be about talent and trying to grow his own talent.

is it really that hard for you to understand that some people would rather be able to say they played football for lsu, even if it meant sitting the bench for their whole career, than go to another school and possibly see the field there?

Just sounds like he's giving up his dream of playing college football and his parents are willing to let him scarifice it just to say he played for LSU.

They should encourage him to do what's in his best interest. Since when young people make great decisions? I bet if he wanted to go play football in Iraqi, they would have something to say.

Well, you have no heart. Football players have a passion for the sport. Why don't you just talk him in becoming a manager he'll still get a ring.

A walk-on does not count against scholarship numbers until he plays in a game. The second he plays in his first game, he automatically counts against the scholarship limit.

and who are you to say that him choosing to walkon at lsu instead of going off somewhere to play under scholarship, if he were to choose to do that, is whats in his best interest? what if he doesnt want to be far from home, or they dont think hes ready to be far from home? is it not in his best interest to go to college 5 minutes away?

are you old enough to go to college yet? if so, did you have any say in where you went or did your parents tell you where to go to college?

how is this even the least bit relevant to what is being discussed here?

false. there were 74 different players that saw the field for lsu last year, plus 15 players that redshirted and 1 scholarship player that missed the whole year with an injury. if the walkons counted in the numbers that would have put lsu at 90 players last year, 5 over the limit.
