Are we missing the boat with Davonte Neal?

i think that we might be missing out on a real nice playmaker
here is a little snippet from his under armour workout the other day
Neal has shown his versatility throughout the practices by working on both sides of the ball and also contributing on special teams. On Tuesday, he made his mark at wide receiver where he regularly got himself open behind the defense on a variety of routes. He is quick off the line, sharp on cuts, and does a good job creating separation in space. He catches the ball cleanly with his hands and has the athletic ability to make acrobatic catches on poor throws.
he is a smaller guy at 5'9", but he has tons of explosiveness to make him effective at WR or CB
everything i have read and seen is that he focuses on the little things. that is what makes him a better player and a solid college prospect imho

I am pretty sure K. Holmes is the same type of player without the hype. Just my opinion though.

to make a Saints comparison
K Holmes is like Devery Henderson
Davonte Neal is like Lance Moore

We are down one Davante/Devante/Davonte as of today, so we do have an opening there.

I think we are missing out if we don't seriously go after this kid. He appears to have elite speed and quickness to go along with being fundamentally sounds on both sides of the ball. Size is his only weakness. I think it depends on how LC and TH play out. Whether they revisit him or not.
I'd say he's Greg Reid with more lateral quickness.

I don't think he expressed any real interest in LSU since his junior year. I don't see how we are "missing the boat" on a kid from Arizona that wasn't ever all that interested.

Is Neal serious about OSU? Do people think he goes there now? crossing my fingers

Neal is unique because his recruiting process is basically just starting. He is from Ohio and has always said OSU was his favorite team so I'd say OSU has to be the favorite especially with Meyer there. Hard to really say that he'll end up there but there is reason for optimism for OSU fans.
The kid is a stud and can play on both sides of the ball. In regards to the Homes comparison,at this point it's not even close. Neal is actually a good football player and has played it his whole life. If Holmes ends up as good as Neal is right now then we should be ecstatic. I like Holme's potential but if I had to pick between he and Neal it wouldn't be a hard decision at all.
