Any new info out there on Brandon Martin and Chidi Valentine-Okeke?

Chidi is definitely going to qualify. Martin is probably going to attend JUCO next year, so I wouldn't get your hopes up on him.

Since we don't need immediate help at either position, these guys can sit a year either way. I like the upside on both of them a lot, but I don't think we were expecting much from them in 2015 anyway.

From what I've heard, there's no chance with Martin qualifying (for this year anyway). I have heard that Chidi has a 3.1 GPA per his coach, but his issue is the ACT score. So I guess we'll know more when those ACT scores start rolling in.

Agree neither are needed this year but the conundrum would be that if they don't qualify then we'd have to recruit them again. In Chidis case in particular that could be troublesome. With a clean slate and no issues out there I'm not sure we land him. Wouldn't have this time. But we wait and see.

Surely Birmingham would not cock-block another Valentine, in consecutive years, from eligibility at LSU? That's what worries me... some other SEC school that recruited him will whine to the SEC office about something-or-other.

This kind of obscures the reality of the situation. The school lost its charter, not accreditation, because of book-keeping.

As much as this sucked for Valentine as far as LSU is concerned this was probably the best case scenario. We were able to get in in school, practice and train with the team, and get qualified. If he would have went JUCO or Prep School he may have never made it back. I my opinion I would love for the same type deal happen with Chidi. We don't need him to play next year. It would just be a secure way of keeping him at LSU.
