Alabama 5th and LSU 6th

I'm sure there's a logical explanation for this, but I found it interesting that we're ranked behind Bama although they and LSU have the same amount of 4 and 5 star recruits at this point, but LSU has more total recruits.

they usually just judge your top 25 signees, not total

Is that Rivals? Bama was 4th, them Auburn then LSU not a half hour ago.

They have different levels of four star. When you look at one teams class click the RR sort button at the top.

Alabama 4-Stars
6.0 --> 0
5.9 --> 8
5.8 --> 7

LSU 4-Stars
6.0 --> 1 (Ferguson)
5.9 --> 3 (Allen; Boone; Reid)
5.8 --> 11

Not that it really means anything, just to snap their streak of top five Rivals finishes this year

It's more complicated than just # recruited and stars. As I understand the formula they rank players by fractions and also give extra points to schools that fill need positions.

With Reed in at Auburn I think the only shot is with Justin Parker and I would put the chances of signing him at less than 5%. Looks like Bama will stick at 5 unless Oklahoma has anyone else they are waiting on.
