This is probably in response to missing out on Davis. This guys stats are pretty average but there's no risk in bringing in a grad transfer instead of letting a scholarship go unused. I'm really hoping we hear some good news on Kiir soon.

With this offer after the Davis offer, I think it's obvious Wade doesn't like Mays as his point guard. At least not yet.

Mays moves in slow motion, which seems opposite of what Wade wants.

Either he doesn't see Mays as his guy or Patterson is transferring. He's definitely going hard for a true PG.

I say play Blakeney at point. May entice him to come back as he can show off his PG skills

Blakeney
Sampson

I don't think Blakeney, Sampson, or Mays should play the point. Mays is probably the best out of the three, but that's not saying much, because his ball handling is terrible.

This guy seems like a SG more than PG. Almost a little Stringer-esque. Only 2.7 assists per game but shot over 39% from 3.

I dont see Blakeney as a PG. Maybe I am wrong. I have been before. He needs to work very hard on his 3 pt shot this off season.

Kid would've dropped 50 on LSU this year.

Not a lot of passing in that video. Seems like a shorter version of Blakeney.

Akron liked to run their offense through their big man, Isiah Johnson. No idea if Jackson can pass or not, but I think his role here would be a bit different than the one he had there. The assists numbers could rise with that change.

Also, it looks like Jackson went to high school in Houston. Proximity to home is probably something in our favor here.

Mays def plays too slow but some of that was on Johnny. Asked his 1's to do way too much with no movement off ball. Too much talent to write off.

Yeah his stats really do not indicate a great facilitator. Last season he only averaged 2.7 assist to 1.9 turnovers a game. But at 5-11 he's too undersized to play the 2. He does have really good handles though. He can shoot the three, drive and finish in traffic despite his size, and has quick hands on defense. He would instantly upgrade our roster and play a lot. Hope we get him.

This. Mays was left out there to completely create an offense out of nothing.

He got better as the season went on. He's got good size and I think too much potential to close the book on just yet. Maybe he wants out because Jones is no longer his coach. Nonetheless, I think he is one of your better returning players who LSU can build around.

I think he's a good player. Perhaps Wade wants to bring in a graduate transfer to give Mays a year to improve.
