If I was coach and he mentioned another coach he respected in a conversation with me, he would immediately drop on my board, just because that shows a lack of respect.

1. We don't know the context of the conversation.

2. Like it or not, Saban is the name in college football. ESPN (Tom Luginwhatever especially) talks about him non-stop. It's like a recruit from Texas in the 90's saying he respects Tom Osborn. I'm sure Texas people hated it, but it's what's been in these kids faces their whole life pretty much.

3. What if he told bama coaches he respected Les Miles? Would you still be butthurt?

I understand kids have decisions to make, but I hate that it's always between us and the Gumps. I understand their track record of first round draft picks, but going to Bama is like sleeping with the enemy.

his admiration for Saban

WTF? Admiration? Have they even met?

I couldn't imagine speaking to the president of microsoft and talking about my admiration of Apples CEO.....

I do understand that Miles could have easily asked a question that led him to that answer, but it is still something you don't say in that situation

Saban's work ethic makes me laugh. He's non stop. I already stole one top OT from him this year now I'll get to work on stealing the other one next year. Dude is a trip. Magee looks much meaner than Robinson like he'll kill someone.

Probably happens often, but you'll never see it reported...

It's amazing how similar to Pravda the Bama recruiting media is.

Asked his cousin if he was extended a offer what were the chances he would end up at LSU and he said 75% and that he wanted to remain in Louisiana!

Well, he got the offer.

Magee must not know former Saban players. I have been too many things about how he treats players. I live in Texas and former players and family members of players have voluntarily told me about how he is. Admiration is a strong, strong word to use about a guy you barely know. Especially, when he has a history like Saban does with players.

I would still think it inappropriate for my child to say that to the other person.

it is some what inappropriate and most men in their 30's or older would realize that, but he is a 17 year old Louisiana high school student. It's not a big deal.

I honestly doubt that it will come down to an LSU - Bama battle for this kid.

It won't, if he gets a offer from LSU he comes to LSU.

Agree. Kid is either not too bright or an arse. He must not want LSU too bad if he actually said that. Punk

Dude, the OP implied that the kid mentioned Saban only after he was asked what schools he was interested in. Slow your roll. He wasn't (allegedly) disrespecting anyone.

At this early point almost a year before the 2015 NSD, how does Magee compare to other LA OL like Tillery of Shreveport Evangel, Garrett Thomas of Many and Oshea Dugas of Northside?
