I don't know what the AU fanbase felt when they fired Chiz, but they certainly didn't feel that with Malzahn and Nick Marshall, that they were going to the National Championship this year.

UF is in the SEC.....oh, and in the state of Florida. They will have no trouble pulling instate talent.....plus a few out of staters....we saw that with Willis.

Something more happened with Willis, which meant more to him going to a school "on the decline". Momma, Landon, Muschamp, Saban (don't believe) or his family's overall dislike for the state of La. It doesn't matter.

We are possibly going to pull T. Valentine or B. Speaks from out of state. Bet y'all won't hear any of the Rant threatening their homestate employment futures since they are choosing an out of state school...right?

But anyway.

Look at some of the small school guys on the Saints. Marcus Colston, Jahri Evans, Junior Gallette, Akiem Hicks, Khiry Robinson and Terron Armstead were small school guys who were drafted in later rounds (if at all). Had they played at an SEC school they all would have been drafted in the first three rounds

Yeah, cause there are no SEC guys that get drafted late. All those guys really prove his point, it doesn't matter where you go, the NFL will find you if you can play. However, the guys you listed did not go to D1A (or FBS) schools. FCS, DII or DIII is a different story. Still there have been FCS guys drafted in the first 2 rounds and in the case of Willis we are talking about freaking FLORIDA. It doesn't matter if they suck, EVERYONE knows who Florida is. It is much easier to find guys at FLORIDA who, despite being 4-8 will still play most of their games on TV, that Stillman or Hofstra, which will never been on TV, save for maybe their division championship game.

True to a degree, but a player at Ball State will in general not have faced the competition week in/week out. A player in the SEC will have played the best of the best. And a school in chaos, like FL, is not the best place to hone one's skills. He'll likely have to get used to at least one new coaching staff, defensive philosophy, style of play.

GWIII will make it to the NFL, barring injury or something else unforeseen. But he would be more polished and ready if he had gone to LSU.

You are correct. But most people are knuckleheads and don't get this.

Clearly SEC players face better competition, but the NFL doesn't really care. BCS conferences will always dominate the draft and especially the early rounds because more good players go to those schools, but they will not hesitate to take a player from a non BCS conference or even FCS in the first if they grade him out high enough.

Saying Florida is in "chaos" is over stating things. They had a bad season and their HC will be on the hot seat next year, but it is not a foregone conclusion that he will be fired. Even if he is, a lot of times assistants are retained by the new coach and its the positions coaches and the S&C coaches that do the "developing". A new system will not affect a DL the way it would say a QB (think Mallet at Mich).

Take off the P&G Glasses. we all wish he had picked LSU, but this is flat out ridiculous.

You guys that think WHERE a kid goes to school has any affect of maybe more than 10% of WHERE a kid goes in the draft are retarded.

Not many are saying he can't get to the NFL from Florida.

But, it's a miserable experience playing for a lame duck coach, on a team that is not very good, while getting compared to FSU constantly. And, that's just year 1.

Then he needs to meet an entirely new coaching staff in year 2...none of whom he will be familiar with.

Florida is a TERRIBLE decision.

can you tell what the S&P will be at by the end of the year Nostradamus? How about who wins the Kentucky Derby or maybe just a link to where Muschamp has been fired.

Oh and he won't be familiar with the coaching staff of the NFL team that drafts him (assuming he gets drafted) and unlike now, he won't have choice to flip flop on and call his brother about.

Keenan Lewis wasn't even a ranked recruit out of Louisiana... he was a third round draft pick for the steelers, ranked one of the best CB's in the NFL, and was shutting down Desean Jackson in the Saints-Eagles game on Saturday

Hey I wish he would have come to LSu also, but that statement is a bit ridiculous.
