As a junior Collins completed 65 percent of his passes for 1,930 yards and 16 touchdowns. He is a talented, strong-armed passer with fluid body movement in the pocket, good feet and a quick and easy release.

“We always knew he was very talented,” the elder Collins said. “We would get the phone calls. I think, Elite 11 was a surreal moment for him, even getting the invite at the regionals. Just to get there and brush shoulders with your Dante Moore and Jaden Rashada and say I’m balling like these kids. You’re used to seeing them on social media and watching their video but you don’t know if you’re on the same level and in some cases better. I think that was a real proud moment for him. For me to see he’s a step above some but you’re on the field with nationally ranked quarterbacks and everybody is looking good, literally everybody looks good, it was a real proud moment for me.”
