People are saying we can take more than 27..... I'll believe it when I see it...... as for now it's 27.

QB. 1
RB. 3
OL. 4
WR. 4
TE 2
DL. 4
LB. 4
DB. 5

People might ask why 5 DB......... remember how much Nickel defense we play !!

I'd take a RB and WR from that list and place them in to OL and DL

Deducting a RB from 3 to 2 could occur, however, can't deduct WR from 4 to 3 as the current WRs on roster (beside Chark) have no game experience of significance combined with fact that Louisiana is flush with big tall 4 star impact wide receivers this year to recruit.

Would indeed be nice to have more than 27 schollies.

I would take 1 from rb and 1 from te and add to OL and DL.

However, if we get the 2 transfer players then it is a moot point.

Only transfer I would take is an instant impact OT.
LSU is very young but has the players to address needs..... those 2 quality ILB recruits in 2017 class helped big time.

Looks pretty accurate to me, I would get 3 tackles 1 guard and possibly more DLman. Maybe take 3 DBs 2 CB 1 Safety since we took 3 this cycle. Plus DB is NEVER a concern. I would take all 4 WR and all 3 RBs we need them. We need at least 2 stud RBs and another under the radar type but with lots of upside. The new coach has his work cut out but he did say he likes working hard. We will need to hunt down these RBs but I think he can do it and I also believe there are a few out there that haven't been discovered just yet. Tackle position along with stud DLman is also important this cycle. Find some good LBs for depth a great QB and we have a future championship team on the way. It's about time LSU stacks up our team with quality depth and this is the cycle to do just that. Let's see what happens. This season is important for recruiting going forward also it could put us on the national map if certain things happen, like a big leap in offense, the defense being more dominating, ST being more aggressive/exciting then finally beating Bama or at least look very good in a lose. Beating them would go a long way though. I believe all these things are very much possible, the animal will finally be let out of its cage this year is my hope.

Why does everyone care abut the 27 number? You can only have 85 scholly players at a time and 27 is 33 percent. I do not want 33 percent of the team ever to be true freshman

I've heard the rumour we can take approximately 30 Schollies but as I said in my first post...... I'll believe it when I see it on signing day.
Also, transfers into LSU would burn schollies so I'm using 27 as a number for now.

If you can sign a class just like Alabama just signed for 2017......with elite players at every single position...... that will set you up for the next 3-4 years.....very rare but it was just done and we need that.

In short.....just get them on the roster any way you can .... !!!!

Go take a look at that class my friend......their depth is incredible. That's what we need.

One too many DBs, RBs, and WRs. I think we can take one from each and add them to the trenches.

Outside of Chark and Gage, we have nothing but freshman and sophomores at WR, so 3 would be good enough.

I say only take 2 RBs because we'll have Brossette, CEH, and possibly Ducre and lil Fournette will get a chance. That gives us 6 for one year. Also, the RB crop this year is pretty meh early on.

We'll have at least 6 CBs (possibly 7) and 5 safeties on roster before the 2018 recruits step on campus, so taking 5 DBs seems like overkill. Two of each should suffice.

5 DBs may seem like a lot but it is the position that has the most offers out there. Get Cook and/or Surtain at CB, and hold on to sterns and add Foster at safety, and LSU is good with 4 of that quality.

We can technically take 29 with 4 EES but the 85 number is a factor so I'm saying 25 until we see who bolts this spring.

QB 1-word is 2 but I just don't see why. Taking 2 in consecutive years just means at least 1, maybe 2 will transfer. find 1 great one and be done

RB 2-unless we get blown away by a kid that makes us take 3, 2 is fine considering its not a good year instate or nationally at this point. Find 2 good ones.

WR 4-this is likely the minimum. Too loaded instate and we have a need. People keep saying we are young and we are but young means unproven and the miss rate is high so take 4

TE 1- could see 2 but I'll go with one.

OL 4- minimum and at least 2 OTs. Legit OTS not guys like Deculus who is probably better inside.

DL 4- numbers are shrinking and we need depth and versatility on the DL with our fronts

LB 4- could see just 3 but think 4 is more likely. 2 in and 2 out

DBS 5- people can say it's too many but we've got some attrition coming so 5 minimum. Already have 2 safeties so don't get why people keep saying 4 or less. No question we will take 2, likely 3 CBS so with 2 S already in there's no question 5 is the low number. Could see another S mixed in because TX is loaded with them.

It was a quality vs quantity statement to show 4 DBS are fine and 5 isn't exactly necessary. Joseph is definitely quality and probably the reason we may very well take 5 DBs.

Aaaaaaah....... Tigerbait2008

You wish to join the discussion.

I could give you a dissertation on your lack of introspection and intelligence...... but this would be lost on a "plant manager".

Go away.......you not only bore me but the remainder of the board as well.
