3 rounds in for the 2017 NFL Draft and Team jembeurt has 6 draft picks. Second year in a row I get 3 First rounders.

Myles Garret - 1st overall
Mike Williams - 7th overall
Takkarist McKinley - 26th overall
Chris Wormley - 74th overall
Brendan Langley - 101st overall
Kendall Beckwith - 107th overall
Ukeme Eligwe - 183rd overall
Joey Ivie - 228th overall
Elijah Hood - 242nd overall
Matt Dayes - 252nd overall

Definitely one of, if not my best draft. Was a little surprised that a couple other guys didn't get drafted. Hope to see them on a roster very soon.

With less than 10 days until the start of college football season, who has news (good or bad) on their 2017 or 2016 pick ups (or farther back for that matter)?

Some updates on my classes:

2017:
Headliner Chase Young one of the first Buckeyes to "lose his black stripe" (Urban Meyer thing - actually good) and while playing at a pretty loaded position is already being praised by the coaches as "too good to keep off the field". Exactly what you want to hear out of your #1 overall.

After some initial struggles this fall camp, Richard LeCounte now seems to be squarely in the mix to start at Safety with an injury to Malcolm Parrish. He likely will cede that spot once Parrish returns, but will be great to see him get some playing time early. Also on the UGA front, Walter Grant getting some great reviews from camp, though he's unlikely to crack the starting ILB lineup behind Roquan and Natrez with Reggie Carter rotating in. Eric Stokes is apparently better than expected as well, working quickly to crack the two deep at cornerback and turning some heads with his ridiculous speed. Congrats to whoever picked up Andrew Thomas - as it looks like he's grabbed the starting RT job for now... our OL was such a mess last season, I'm really holding a lot of hope in the young guys to be able to change that in 17.

Robert Barnes sounds likely to crack the starting rotation at Nickelback at Oklahoma... Based on comments seems to be a calculated way of getting him on the field but with fewer responsibilities and mental hurdles to trip up on. Either way, impressed he sounds to be an early contributor.

At #5 overall, we have Elijah Blades, who was a partial qualifier to Nebraska but elected to go the Community College route instead... Interview sounds like he was sold a bill of goods on being able to easily qualify, so highly talented kid who will be up on the open market in the not too distant future.

Elsewhere on the defense, sounds like Wade-Perry may crack the two deep at DT but as expected won't be starting. Luiji Vilain is turning heads at Michigan so fast I think necks might snap... while I didn't expect him to necessarily find the field this year, sounds like he may get worked in at DE or OLB for pass rush sets at least. LeAnthony Williams almost definite redshirt at Clemson, and Sampson Niu likely to end up in the rotation at ILB. Marquise Blair apparently seeing time at FS already at Utah. With their starting SS out indefinitely, they shifted their FS returning starter over and seem to be content starting Blair in his vacated spot for now.

Offensively, less exciting. Shawn Robinson seems to be set to redshirt barring injury at TCU. Cordarrian Richardson and Chuba Hubbard looking good in practice, but both behind some pretty talented backs. Chuba with a shot to take the #2 gig, but I will guess redshirts. Omar Manning getting great reviews at TCU, but another guy that is in a crowded depth chart... maybe not a redshirt, but likely not a high contributor this year. Evidence Njoku had a minor setback this fall with a hyper-extended knee, but otherwise had really been impressive making big leaping catches. I'm really excited to see him develop as a late round pickup for me. Nothing noteworthy from Averett yet... cool story about his "criminal past" that got written up though, talking about the shady justice system of Atlanta/Fulton County.

On the OL, K'Rojhn Calbert set to RS this season due to pre-existing medical condition... sounds like surgery is supposed to fix though. Always expected that though as he was super raw anyways. The other 4 are a bit of a mixed bag - almost all of them have a *chance* at finding their way into the 2 deep. Chandler probably the lowest. Ryan Nelson getting time at Tackle with a starter suspended, Sichterman getting time at Center, and Filiaga competing for time as well.

In the supplemental rounds, sounds like Morgan Ellison may be my biggest steal. No starter named, but his is the name that seems to be getting thrown around the most. They're looking for consistency out of him, which is hard for a freshman, but I think his talent will keep him in the mix often. Great comeback story for a kid that dealt with injuries throughout high school. Meanwhile Kaegun Williams challenging hard for the 3rd RB spot at SDSU behind Penny and Washington. Scrimmages mean nothing, but he did lead the day with 20 carries for 100 yards in their "fan fest" scrimmage recently.

DeeJay Dallas getting time at Punt Returner for now, which if it stands is interesting that Richt may have turned over a new leaf on his approach to ST. Also, Alec Jackson seems to be getting some good looks this camp at finding a way into DL rotation, which is a bit surprising to me. I'd expect it to be minimal with who all Auburn returns this year, but if he can perform well, any experience is good for his future outlook.

**FYI Jembeurt (obviously no rush to adjust): Looks like Supplemental rounds 2/3 were left off the roster breakdowns, and my second pick was not updated to the "pick comment" at the top of the post (DeeJay Dallas).

2016:

#1 overall pick for me Antonneous Clayton really struggled all of last season, so much so that many considered him a bust. To his credit, he did an interview somewhat recently where he's really owned it and mentions that he felt undersized and underprepared. This season, he's coming in 40 pounds heavier but just as fast according to teammates... that's dangerous AF.

Mique Juarez looking to be on the field a lot. Guantanamo Bay seems to be behind Dormady at UT still, which is shocking... must not be developing quickly. Cedric Wood buried on the depth chart at FSU right now. Pridgeon trying to take the RG spot at OSU in a two man battle for the only open spot on the line. Holyfield possibly getting passed by incoming freshman Deandre Swift, but both seeing about the same amount of snaps in camp. Diesch slotted in at 2nd string LT for now...

Jordan Parker locked in a battle for the second starting corner gig, probably with the inside track but not going to be easy to keep it. Javon McKinley broke his leg last year requiring surgery, and while he seems to be impressing this camp at ND, that is a really crowded depth chart for time behind St. Brown this season. Brandon Randle looks to find his way onto the field potentially at DE before OLB, due to depth concerns... getting great reviews from Dantonio. Alloway still stuck behind SRs but may see time in the return game this year. Travon Fuller may not start the season for A&M but sounds like a good chance to take over a starting corner job before year end. Alves looking to have a great shot to start at Guard. Justin Layne saw time at both receiver and DB last year (including a 43 yard INT return for TD), but sounds like at least for now, the argument has subsided and they've landed on DB for him - which is probably for the best for him and the team due to attrition (both expected and some unexpected), though I really like him at WR still.

Kyzir White had a killer season last year, and looks to currently be the #5 draft prospect at strong safety. Not too bad a return for a 17th round pick. Also, I think he killed a dude...

J'Marcus Rhodes seems to have the inside track on the SPUR/Nickel position at ASU but battling another Sr so chance that he splits time.

Solomon "Moving Train" Kindley, much to my surprise, appears to have the RG starting gig locked down right now at UGA. OL is still in flux, so that *could* change, but he's been there pretty much all of Fall camp.

Dillon Mitchell looks primed for a huge season at WR in Oregon. Brady Breeze looks to take advantage of a position switch for Schooler there, and likely to crack the starting lineup at Safety as well. Devin Cochran pushing for time at RT, but still some development to go... at 6'7" with the feedback he's getting, it sure seems more when and less "if". Nothing exciting to share about Hill... seems likely to see the field but maybe not a high contributor. Max Gilliam has announced his transfer from Cal but haven't seen where he is going? In a surprise move, Victor Viramontes followed suit... Unclear what's going on at Cal but can't be good.

Gary Overshown looks to have a great opportunity this season with Chambers transferring and Bowen out for the season.

Tariqious Tisdale went the JuCo route after not qualifying, though it will be interesting to see how the Ole Miss thing shakes out... the original plan was for him to to to Ole Miss after a year or two at JuCo, but with Freeze gone, who knows. Darrian Franklin dismissed from Oregon on sexual assault charges... no telling where he ends up now. Quayshon Alexander RS'd last season after requiring surgery, and haven't heard much yet this camp... guessing nothing exceptional thus far.

Getting right on those updates now.

And thanks for posting some updates of your team. Wish more people would do the same. It's hard enough to keep up with your own team, much less everyone else's. I've always enjoyed keeping track of players, knowing full well that most won't be big stars.

I'll post an update of my team sometime in the next few days.

For sure. The draft is fun, but keeping tabs on how guys do, which guys you "just missed on" that make it big (or bust and you were lucky to be late to the party). I try and keep an eye out at the beginning of the season, end of season, and after spring ball to see what is being said at least... Also lets me know where I'm evaluating talent well and where I'm not... master algorithm for future drafts is always being perfected. #SCIENCE #artificialintelligenceisbetterthannoneatall

Rainy day means stuck at the office with shite to do. So, update on my team. Offensive players.

Offensive Line:
I've always seemed to gravitate to this position more than the others, which is probably why I've had the most success here in my drafts. If Juwann Bushell-Beatty starts at RT for Michigan (he's battling with John Runyan Jr.), ALL FIVE of my 2014 picks will be starting this year. They are:

Bentley Spain, LT UNC (Has started 23 games at LT thus far)
Toa Lobendahn, LT USC (drafted as a guard, but he has played every position on their line the last 4 years.)
Nick Allegretti, LG Illinois (drafted at OC, played there last year and now at Guard)
Donell Stanley, RG USCe (Started last year but got hurt early and missed most of the season)

Adding in Bushell-Beatty would make this my best OL class. 2015's OL class may be better on talent, but I had one leave football.

Martez Ivey, LT Florida (Started at Guard Frosh year, moved to LT midway through last year)
Chuma Edoga, RT USC (Started off as Guard, actually won the LT gig, but asked to be moved to RT, better fit)
Fred Ulu-Perry, RT Hawaii (drafted as a OC, but moved to RT in his first year with Hawaii)
Martinas Rankin, LT Miss St (started last season at LT as well)

Add in R.J. Prince, RG UNC from 2013, Greg Little, LT Ole Miss from 2016 and two others pushing for starting jobs, and my OL is looking really good.

At QB, I have Drew Lock starting at Missouri, which he has since a freshman, Chayce Crouch at Illinois, which will be his first as a starter as a JR, and two transfers with a chance to start in Rafe Peavey at SMU and Anu Solomon at Baylor. Both coaches have not named a starter as of yet. Slight chance Anthony Russo at Temple could see some time this year as Collins said he will play multiple guys.

At RB, I'm thin this year as I had a couple guys get drafted last year. Mark Walton at Miami U is my headliner, and should be one of the best in the nation this year. Tre Bryant at Nebraska will be receiving most of the carries and may be the starter. After those guys, might not be much else.

At WR, I have a few guys who could make a big jump this year. Shaun Nixon and Emanuel Porter at TCU both have a chance to do well this year, with starting in the slot. John Burt at Texas gave up on track and will now focus on football, so hopefully he'll be able to turn a corner on his ability. Tyler Vaughns at USC and Bryan Edwards at USCe should both be starters this year (Edwards started last year and Vaughns RS). From the 2017 class, Caleb Farley was is line to start at VT, but is out for the season with an injury. Mike Harley at Miami U could start due to the starter being injured and Hunter Rison at Michigan St will be playing a good bit this year as well.

I have one TE who will start, and that is Daniel Helm at Duke. Other than him, I don't think any of me TEs will be playing much.

Update to my update: Anu Solomon won the starting job at Baylor.

On the defensive side, I'm just trying to reload after having a bunch of guys get drafted over the last two years.

2014:
After having Myles Garrett go 1st overall, I have another 8 guys starting this year (would've been 9 but Jonathan Lockett, CB USC is injured and out for the year). They are:

Bryan Mone, DT Michigan (started as a frosh, got hurt and is just now reclaiming the starting gig)
Tashon Smallwood, DT Arizona State (has started since day 1 and is going strong still)
Marquis Haynes, DE Ole Miss (with 24 career sacks, he has a great chance to pass Hardy for the Ole Miss record with 26.5)
Chase Winovich, DE Michigan (drafted as LB, moved to TE, moved to DE and had a good year last year as a full time DE)
Nyles Morgan, ILB Notre Dame (multi year starter at the inside spot)
Stepheny Durham, CB Georgia Tech (started last year and will be their best CB this year)
Trevon Young, DE Louisville (really good pass rusher and multi year starter but is coming back from a bad neck injury)
Greg Stroman, CB/PR Virginia Tech (mutli year starter and possible high round pick with a good SR season)

2015:
A few starters from this group are:

Hjalte Froholdt, LG Arkansas (should have put him in my Offensive group but he was drafted as a DE. Switched to OC as a frosh and became the LG starter last year)
Jalen Dalton, DT UNC (First year starter after playing as a reserve last year)
Andre Smith[b/], ILB UNC (started as a frosh and is the leader on this defense)
[b]Donte Jackson
, CB/PR LSU (Most of you know his story)
Ben Humphreys, LB Duke (started last year and will be one of the better LBs in the ACC I believe)
Kareem Orr, CB Tenn-Chatt (Frosh All American at Arizona St, then transferred this year to be closer to home since his son was born this past year)

2016:
Not looking great for this group starting wise as I only have one player starting. That is Troy Warner, CB BYU, who also started all of last year. I do have a few names to watch for in Ray Thornton, DE/LB LSU, Jonathan Smith, ILB UNC, Kash Daniel, LB Kentucky and Dylan Singleton, S Duke.

2017:
This class already looks better than my 2016 class.
Harrison Hand, CB Baylor (22nd round pick ) and Hasan Defense, CB Kansas (supp pick ) will be starters, with Anthony Hines, LB Texas A&M, and C.J. Avery, LB/S Louisville seeing a large amount of playing time, possibly even starting by season's end.

2017 was my first and only class.

I have WR Tarik Black starting for Michigan. He'll get a good test against the Florida defense this weekend.

Several guys will see playing time as true freshman this season. Three are already sitting at #2 on their depth charts.

Cesar Ruiz will likely be a regular part of Michigan's rotation at Center for Michigan.

I expect Tua to come in an QB for Bama in the 4th quarter when they are significantly ahead. If Hurts gets nicked up, he could end up playing a decent amount.

DE Taquan Graham will be part of the Texas rotation.

People have been raving about Todd Harris. I won't be surprised if he gets some time at safety for LSU in September.

My boy Jonathan Taylor on the fast track to freshman of the year. Just to recap my thoughts when he was drafted
quote:

I pick Wisconsin RB Jonathan Taylor. 5'11 215 NJ 100m champion. Absolute freak athlete. I don't want to say future Heisman but of all the players in this class he's got the best shot
